Ghana’s premier lifestyle brand, Glitz Africa presents the fourth edition of its successful and highly anticipated event, “Glitz Style Awards”, which celebrates individuals setting trends and raising standards with their fashion style.

The awards, slated for Saturday, the 1st of September, 2018, also seek to strengthen the growing fashion industry by establishing, developing and promoting international industry standards here in Ghana. The event is an opportunity for the fashion industry to celebrate and promote the extraordinary creative talents in Ghana and across the African continent.

Africa’s leading online fabric retail service RosefabricsGh has been nominated in the maiden edition of the Ghana E-commerce Awards which comes off on 30th November 2018.

OML Africa, organizers of the maiden Ghana e-commerce Awards have released the list of nominees for nearly 30 categories at this year’s historic industry event! This a strictly black tie event to be attended by over 150 guests made up of top online business owners, Founders of e-commerce websites, techpreneurs, key government decision-makers, regulators, etc.

The Ghana e-commerce Awards is an award scheme designed to recognize and celebrate excellence and innovation of various stakeholders and players in the burgeoning online retail industry. Over 100 individuals and organizations filed 200 nominations for this important event take place at the Alisa Hotel.

Online shopping platform, mallghana.com leads the pack in terms of a number of nominations for the award categories with 9 nominations, followed by online food ordering platform, pizarea.com, and rosefabricsgh.com, a leading online fabric store with 7 nominations each. Continental online commerce and marketplace giant, Jumia Group; leading African fashion marketplace, Ahwenepa.com and online retail shop, Africakart.com all have 6 nominations each.

Nominations were submitted online either directly from a company, from an involved individual, or from a third party. Winners will be subjected to a 60% strict selection criteria by a judging panel made up of industry experts and regulators plus a 40% public vote via text. Each winner will be expected to accept their award on stage at the awards ceremony on 30 November 2018.

These prestigious awards are designed to recognize and reward deserving companies and individuals who have shown excellence and innovation in the growth of Ghana’s rapidly growing online business industry. A guest list of over 200 dignitaries and major stakeholders in Ghana’s online space with the Vice President, His Excellency, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are expected to attend as Special Guest of Honor. My Reaction To MzGee’s Dumb Question Increased My Popularity : Wendy Shay

Renowned female dancehall artist, Wendy Shay has disclosed that her interview with Joy News reporter, MzGee which ended with an insult increased her popularity.

A video of the clone artist, Wendy Shay insulting JoyNews presenter Mzgee surfaced on the internet and angered most people who saw the video.

Social media users after watching the video bullied and criticized her for describing an interview question as dumb.

However, Wendy Shay has now made it clear the intentions which influenced her reaction as she reveals that the incident made her more popular in the media space.

Speaking in an interview with Maxwell Amoofia after the occurrence, the ‘Psalm 35’ singer said though many people passed negative comments after the incident, she doesn’t give a howl to such comments.

She said, “Gold shines after going through fire…and I’m really ready to go through the fire.”

“I am not bothered by the trolls. The media were doing their work and I’m also doing mine. I am trending and my face is everywhere. It’s part of the game.,” Wendy Shay added.

When asked if she has any resentment for the interviewer after the incident, Wendy Shay positively responded.

“We are all humans. She hasn’t done anything wrong to me personally. So we are fine,” She stated.

EDEM, Ghanaian rapper who is known as the Voltarian King has sent a very strong advice to all rising artist nationwide.

According to the rapper in a tweet, if you are an upcoming artist, and you think copying the style of your mentor will help you, then it’s not right.

Born Denning Edem Hotor he is undoubtedly one of Ghana’s most successful musicians over the past decade and has the knowledge and the right to caution and advise upcoming artiste.

He tweeted; “If your mentor or who you look up to doesn’t guide you to find your own voice and be your own king but put u under him…Run for your life..Young Acts #Edemthoughts”.
