2019 Ashaiman Music Awards: Full List Of Nominees

The second edition of the Ashaiaman Music Awards has been launched in Ashaiman at Tropicana Lounge (Bar Rosso).
The event which was launched under the theme, “PROJECTING CREATIVITY THROUGH ARTS”, saw a whole lot of people in the music and the entertainment industry at large in attendance.

Notable among those present at the launch was the Member of Parliament for Ashaiman Constituency Hon Ernest Norgbey, Ras Caleb Appiah Levy, aspiring President of MUSIGA and Prince Don Tsegah of Multimedia group (Hitz fm), CEO of Adadey shipping company to support this great initiative by MassBoss Entertainment.

Teddy Eric Mensah used the opportunity to explain the rationale behind the Ashaiman Music Awards and stated that the main aim is to encourage musicians from Ashaiman to eradicate the negative news about the township and how we can project the image in high esteem, to support and also promote the good works of every emerging artist from the town.

He, however, stressed that the award has suffered some challenges in its first edition especially regarding its plaques and other related matters due to lack of or inadequate financial support from sponsors and the corporate world at large.

“A whole lot of challenges including inadequate financial support marred the smooth organization of the scheme’s first edition, however, it would not stop them from organizing this year’s event,” he concluded.

The CEO together with the Don of Hitz FM, therefore, appealed for support in order to put the name of Ashaiman on the map when it comes to music, through the organization of Ashaiman Music Awards Festival. The DON went on to pledge his support for all media marketing efforts for the award saying “I want to sponsor publicity for the main event. – Prince Tsegah”.

“I pledge my support to this awards scheme, not only for this year’s event but also in the subsequent ones”. – Hon. Ernest Norgbey.

The New Voting Process will be announced during the week on how to vote for your favorite Artistes with the new shortcodes.

The CEO of MassBoss Entertainment (Kromah Mishkini) stated that Voting will, however, be based on 70% Public votes and 30% Board decision. A Nominee’s Jam will be held before the main event.

Lauren London’s 2-Year-Old Son Will Inherit $1 Million From Nipsey Hussle’s Estate

Published

Nipsey Hussle

Lauren London has recently filed to establish guardianship over her 2-year-old son with Nipsey Hussle, Kross Asghedom.

London filed the documents, in which she also said that Kross is reportedly “anticipated to inherit approximately $1 million” from Nipsey Hussle’s estate.

In the documents, London states that she is already taking care of Kross Asghedom, and if granted sole guardianship she will look out for his “best interests” as he receives the hefty inheritance from his late father.

She also reportedly wants to be his guardian so that she can continue to participate in any ongoing legal matters with Nipsey’s estate and probate on his behalf.

A rep for London is quoted as saying, “this is a private matter and Lauren has not and will not make any statements. We asked that everyone respect their need for privacy. Thank you.”

Nipsey Hussle’s Clothing Store Could Be Seized For Gang Activity

Published

on

Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle and his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles were the subject of a police investigation when the rapper was fatally shot outside the shop on March 31, The New York Times reports.

The investigation remains open as police and the city attorney’s office contemplate whether to declare the store’s strip mall a site for gang activity, which would allow officials to fine the property’s remaining owners and even seize the property under so-called abatement laws.

Hussle and partners purchased the commercial plaza earlier this year after Marathon Clothing’s former landlords were reportedly pressured to evict the rapper as part of the probe.

The investigation looks especially odd now after city officials, including Mayor Eric Garcetti and Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff, publicly mourned Hussle’s death. Garcetti praised the rapper born Ermias Asghedom as an “artist, entrepreneur, activist and philanthropist” who “loved this city and gave of himself to uplift his neighborhood and his neighbors,” and the city council named the strip mall’s intersection at Crenshaw and Slauson after him.

Hussle was a member of the Rollin’ 60s Crips who was known to invest in the community and support and employ former gang members; he planned to build apartments on the strip.

Thousands gathered at the plaza to mourn and pay tribute during the weeks following Hussle’s death. Marathon Clothing has however remained closed since the shooting.

The ongoing investigation endangers the store’s future and Hussle’s development plans, as Marqueece Harris-Dawson, a city council member representing South Los Angeles, points out. “I think everybody in the community will do everything we can to make sure the ventures he started will continue,” he told the Times. “And this is a very confusing hiccup in this process.” You can read the full report here.

Hussle’s alleged killer Eric Holder currently faces one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. Police have said the shooting was not gang-related. Holder has pleaded not guilty.
