Mr. Wisdom Seli Azeglo, CEO of the Youth Excellence Awards, shared his experience as the CEO of an awards scheme.

The co-founder and CEO revealed on KubiLiveChat that getting companies to sponsor award events in Ghana is extremely difficult.

When asked about his first award event, he told us that it wasn’t easy for him, but it was a teachable moment that empowered him to go the extra mile to have a credible event. He and his co-founders Mr. Richmond Atuah, Mr. Jay Brown, and Mr. Edwin Winegah didn’t get everything right, but they learned and are doing much better.

When asked about the challenges of getting companies to sponsor award ceremonies, he revealed that corporate bodies always want to see an impact before investing or committing their resources to be a part of award events.

Despite the fact that better event award ceremonies have been held for the past five years, there are still e-mails coming in from various companies who want to sponsor them but are weighing their options.

He stated on KubiLiveChat that he is vastly inspired by the style and manner of the Tony Awards scheme, which motivates him to do more.
