Apple will produce a documentary about Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, according to Deadline.
The documentary, titled “Underrated,” will reflect back at Steph’s stunning performance with Davidson College during the 2008 NCAA Tournament and trace its path to his fourth NBA title win last season, as well as his first NBA Finals MVP trophy. It will also show how “his record-breaking and game-changing playing style transformed him from an overlooked prospect to an NBA legend.”
Directed by Peter Nicks (Homeroom) and produced by “Wakanda Forever” director Ryan Coogler’s Proximity Media, the documentary was acquired by the American multinational technology company’s Original Films from A24 through its first-look deal with Curry’s multimedia company Unanimous Media.
In a December game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Stephen Curry broke Ray Allen’s all-time record for three-pointers made. Curry was reportedly close to signing a lifetime contract with Under Armour worth “potentially more than $1 billion” last month, according to Rolling Stone.
Last month, he graduated from Davidson, fulfilling a promise he made to his mother Sonya and head coach Bob McKillop over a decade ago. Steph earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, per Complex.
Meanwhile, early this summer, Trice Production also premiered a new original documentary about Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors’ return to the 2022 NBA Finals dubbed SILENCED in July.
