Opening up about his referee career, he revealed that he graduated as a class 3 referee in 2016 because that same year, he was accepted into the University of Ghana (Legon), which made it difficult for him to train as a footballer, so he decided to give up his footballing career and focus on the other side of the game.
In addition, he revealed in 2018 that he took promotional exams and is now classified as a class 2 referee.
Asking If he is able to officiate a Ghana Premier League game, he revealed that based on his qualifications, he will be able to officiate a division 2 game, but in refereeing, one must pass a fitness test before being ready for a season.
He went on to talk about his opportunities since getting into journalism sports. Mr. Delali Awutey joined famous league football club Dreams FC as a media officer and a digital content creator, where he is part of the club’s communication department, which is similar to running a full media house, but the content is purely about a single club.
With these opportunities, he needed to take more educational courses in sports marketing, which he then combined with his knowledge of digital marketing to ensure that he always produced the best content for his football club.
