Dr. Patience, Mercy Aigbe’s older sister, has taken drastic measures to express her resentment toward her mother by setting fire to her mother’s home. The source of their argument is Dr. Patience’s accusation that their mother is a witch and her use of her witchcraft activity against her in favor of her other well-liked daughter, Mercy.
She also claimed that the elderly woman refused to help her repay a N800,000 loan that she had taken out and was required to repay.
Dr. Pat is said to have set fire to the house on Adebayo Mokuolu Street, across from Anthony Village Recreation Center in Lagos. The house could not be saved, and it was completely destroyed.
Locals claim the house belonged to their mother’s deceased spouse, for whom the elderly woman had only one son.
She was living in the mini-duplicate given to her son by his father, who happened to be Dr. Pat’s half-brother.
The structure is distinct from the main structure in front, which contains additional apartments.
Fortunately, the fire did not spread to the deceased man’s other children from his previous marriage’s apartments. After destroying the structure, Dr. Pat reported herself to the police.
Mercy was reportedly with their mother when she started burning down the house. Mercy later arrived at the house in a black SUV to assess the damage.
Dr. Pat was heard screaming that she would kill their mother before starting the fire, confirming the general public’s belief that she would have burned the elderly woman in the house if she had been there that morning.
According to locals, she has been displaying signs of mental instability for some time and her mother is the one holding her back. The children of the deceased man, to whom the old woman was married, are now concerned that she will return and further damage their father’s property if they do not take action against Dr. Pat right away.
Mercy’s mother currently has no place to return to because the house has been completely demolished. Residents had been awakened earlier in the day on Friday, September 30, by Dr. Pat’s commotion and screaming as she went on a rampage and wrecked her mother’s car.
Her mother, who has arthritis, remained inside while her enraged daughter ripped up her car and cursed at her mother.
After her daughter had gone, the elderly lady came out to inspect the damage done to her car’s windshield, wipers, and front and rear lights.
Many others looked on in disbelief as the visibly enraged woman wrecked the car while berating her mother and yelling at her, “destiny stealer.”
This may explain why she wasn’t home when Dr. Pat arrived and started the fire, as she had turned over the house to Mercy’s because she feared for her life.
According to sources, Mercy and Dr. Pat are half-sisters with different fathers but the same mother.
