Bankole Wellington, better known as Banky W, a popular Nigerian singer, and politician, has denied reports that he has signed BBNaija 2021 winner Whitemoney to his label.
According to a news report, the label owner signed Whitemoney to his record label, EME, last month.
In response, Banky W denied the reports in a recent interview with Hot FM. He stated unequivocally that he did not sign the reality star because his label was no longer in business.
He claims that EME no longer signs artists because they have transitioned from a record label to a media and marketing agency since 2017.
He clarified that he only assisted Whitemoney in obtaining an ambassadorial position with one of his corporate clients.
He reiterated that he did not sign Whitemoney but only got him an ambassadorial position.
“We evolved from a record label to a media and marketing agency.”
I did not sign Whitemoney; instead, we assisted him with an influencer deal with one of the corporate clients we serve, and he now serves as an ambassador for a company. As a result, we assisted him in obtaining a marketing position. “We did not sign him.”
