Octavia Spencer wiped away the tears of joy as she received her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Thursday.
The actress, 52, was clearly overwhelmed by the occasion as she waited in the wings to accept the honour.
She was joined at the special ceremony by The Help co-stars Viola Davis and Allison Janney. Octavia received a Bafta, Golden Globe, SAG Award and Broadcast Film Critics' Choice Award for her role as Minny in the Dreamworks feature film.
Also in attendance to see the accolade for the first black actress to receive Oscar nominations in back-to-back years was her Spirited co-star Will Ferrell.
There was also a special appearance from Aubie the Tiger, the mascot of Spencer's alma mater, Auburn University.
The Academy Award winner turned up to the event looking stunning in an elegant black dress which she paired with leopard print heels.
She became the 2,742nd person to receive a star since the Los Angeles-based Walk of Fame was completed in 1961. Her star is now located at 6623 Hollywood Boulevard.
She revealed she was speechless when she received the honour. Speaking to Variety, she said: "'How do you respond to that? To know that you will forever be a part of the mythology of this town. It was a rare moment where I just couldn’t think of anything to say.
"It’s a place where you can actually see that bygone era of stars who are no longer with it. And you can actually reach out and touch their star. It can make it feel attainable to people. It's just a rare and huge honour."
