But in an intimate podcast released on Boxing Day, a tearful Kim broke her silence to reveal that she is "holding on by a thread", adding that co-parenting her four kids with Ye is "really f***ing hard".
On the Angie Martinez IRL podcast, the reality star explained that she refuses to speak ill of the controversial rapper, who she divorced earlier this year, to protect her children North, nine, Saint, seven, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three.
She said: "One day my kids will thank me for sitting here and not bashing their dad when I could.
"All the crazy s***. They'll thank me and I'll privately answer anything that they want to know."
Kim added that she monitors what they watch on TV and online to hide them from their dad's controversial rants.
The reality star said: "I definitely protected him and I still will in the eyes of my kids for my kids. In my home, my kids don't know anything that goes on in the outside world… I'm holding on by a thread.
"I know I'm so close to that not happening. While that's still happening, I will protect that to the ends of the earth as long as I can."
Ye was banned from Twitter earlier this year for posting anti-Semitic statements, and he later went on to give a car crash interview in which he said "there's a lot of things that I love about Hitler".
