Nigerian singer CKay has shared some of his personal convictions as to why he is a big name in the Afrobeats music scene, crediting hard work.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Nairobi News, the ‘Emiliana’ crooner opened up about how in as much as people assume he has been lucky in his successful stint in music, he is just another normal human being who puts a lot of hustle in his bustle.
“I think I worked hard and God blessed my effort, which is different from luck. I made sacrifices, I worked hard and God blessed it,” said CKay.
The musician was rather hesitant to disclose whether he is romantically involved with anyone and instead gave vague answers to the question on dating, saying;
“I am not single. My mum and music are my girlfriends. I have a lot of girlfriends.”
The singer gave the reason behind his choice of stage name, saying that ‘CKay’ is simply a short form of his real name.
“I didn’t choose the name, it chose me. It’s the short form of my first name which is Chukwuka which means ‘God is Great’.”
