In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.17.22 update, we shared information about a new feature under development that will introduce an additional layer of security to your WhatsApp account: login approval. Thanks to this feature, you will be able to confirm if you want to move your WhatsApp account to a different device and it is useful in case you share your 6-digit code by accident.
In the past few days, WhatsApp is releasing another feature related to the verification screen: the ability to get the 6-digit code right within WhatsApp!
As you can see in this screenshot, a new verification option shows up within the verification sheet and it asks if you want to get the code on your main phone. If the feature is enabled for your account, the 6-digit code will be delivered to your main device. Even in this case, WhatsApp suggests keeping your 6-digit code private since it is like a passcode. If you didn’t ask for the 6-digit code, you can ignore the verification sheet by dismissing it.
Note that this feature is limited to some lucky beta testers so don’t be surprised if it is still not enabled for your WhatsApp account: it seems it is rolling out to a very limited number of beta users so the rollout is not really wide.
The ability to get the 6-digit code right within WhatsApp has been released to some lucky beta testers that install the latest build of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Play Store and it is rolling out to more users over the coming weeks.
