Girls Trip, a Hollywood comedy film directed by Malcolm D. Lee, has announced that a sequel could be shot in Ghana, Africa.
The cast of the film, which includes Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, and Jada Pinkett Smith, will return to Ghana for Part Two.
The film, which was written by Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver from a story by the pair and Erica Rivinoja, tells the story of a group of four friends who traveled to New Orleans to attend the Essence Music Festival in order to reconnect after a long time.
Girl Trip was a massive commercial success, grossing $140 million worldwide on a $19 million production budget, including over $100 million domestically, after premiering on June 14, 2017 at the American Black Film Festival in Miami.
