The maiden edition of EJISU Homecoming dubbed “Mefiri Ejisu” attracted over 2,000 people within Ejisu and from across the world.
Now organizers are expecting above 10,000 indigenes of EJISU at this year’s Ejisu Homecoming – Mefiri Ejisu 2023.
It is expected to be weeks long celebration with series of activities like Health screening, Football tournament, Arts exhibition, Talent Hunt, Musical Concert and so many interesting activities intended to educate, entertain and unite the people of Ejisu and Ghana as a whole.
Ejisu is a city in Greater Kumasi located along the Kumasi-Accra highway about 20 km from Kumasi. It is the capital of Ejisu Municipal Assembly, a municipality of the Ashanti Region, Ghana.
The town is known to be the home of the Historic Asante warrior Queen, Nana Yaa Asantewaa I, who strongly opposed British Colonial Rule.
Nicknamed Queencity, Ejisu is one of the historic towns in Asanteman and can boast of the Yaa Asantewaa Museum, River Bafo, Bobiri butterflies Sanctuary and other tourist sites within its municipality. Indigenes believe that the event fosters unity and development.
The event is powered by No Wrong Thing Family, under the auspices of the Ejisu Traditional council.
