Arsenal are close to agreeing a new five-and-a-half-year contract with winger Bukayo Saka, sources have told Football Insider.
The Gunners are closing in on a total agreement with the 21-year-old that will see him stay at the Emirates Stadium until 2028.
Football Insider sources revealed earlier this month that Arsenal have agreed a new £40million deal with Gabriel Martinelli that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of Saka and made a new contract for the England international a top priority after agreeing terms with Martinelli.
Saka will earn in excess of £200,000-a-week with his new deal, putting him among the highest earners at the club.
His current deal with the Premier League leaders expires in 2024 but Saka is extremely happy in North London and is eager to pledge his future to Arsenal with a new deal.
Saka has emerged as one of Arsenal’s key players over the last few seasons, and his nine goals and eight assists this season have helped the Gunners to the top of the Premier League table.
He has spent his entire football career with Arsenal after joining their Hale End academy and spending 10 years in their youth system before graduating in 2018.
