Black Sherif, Ghanaian musician, has been nominated for best outstanding pair, group, or collaboration at the 55th National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Image Awards.
This year's NAACP Image Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, March 16, 2024.
Black Sherif earned the spot alongside his collaborators Dreamville's American rapper Bas and Nigerian producer/singer Kel-P for their soundtrack for the box office hit film Creed III, a 2023 American sports drama produced and directed by Michael B. Jordan, who stars as Adonis Creed.
The 55th NAACP Awards winners will be announced at a two-hour LIVE TV spectacular on BET and CBS on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 8:00 PM ET/PT.
Speaking about this year's African candidates, Monde Twala, Senior Vice President of Paramount Africa and Peer Lead, BET International, stated, "We take delight in putting a light on black legacy and excellence. We have a global roster of African artists, including Burna Boy, Davido, Tems, Asake, Libianca, Black Sherif, Lojay, Omah Lay, and Ayra Starr, receiving nominations in the music categories. Ayo Edebiri, John Boyega, Nkechi Okoro Carroll, Daniel Kaluuya, and Lola Akinmade Åkerström have received well-deserved nominations in the Motion Picture, Literary, and Television categories.
Victoria Monét and Usher received the most nominations in the music recording categories, with six and five, respectively. RCA Records garnered an amazing 20 nominations, the most among all record labels. HarperCollins Publisher and Penguin Random House dominate the literary categories with seven and four nominations, respectively.
Colman Domingo leads the nominations in the motion film categories, with three. Ayo Edebiri has the most nominations in the television and streaming categories, with two each for Abbott Elementary and The Bear.
The public can vote in certain categories for the "55th NAACP Image Awards" at www.naacpimageawards.net. Voting finishes on February 24 at 9:00 p.m. The winners will be announced during the "55th NAACP Image Awards" broadcast on BET and CBS on March 16, 2024. The NAACP will also acknowledge winners in non-televised Image Awards categories on March 11-14, which will be streamed live at naacpimageawards.net.
