American singer, Selena Gomez has revealed she is 'finally at a good place' in life following several ups and downs.
Speaking with Rolling Stone following the release of her recent single Love On, the 31-year-old singer explained that her desire to make new music stems 'from a place of confidence', so she is doing 'good'.
'Part of me feels like I'm finally at a good place with everything in my life,' she told Rolling Stone in an article published on Monday.
She added her latest release reflects the 'joy and curiosity' she is experiencing at the moment.
The actress, who was spotted filming with her co-stars for the upcoming fourth season of her hit Hulu series Only Murders in the Building released Love On late last month.
Last summer, she released her second single in 12 months with the upbeat song, Single Soon.
She told the outlet that both of her latest releases are reflective of various points of her life in the past two years.
Single Soon is about the end of the romance and Love On is about the beginning of one.
'Both of them stand along in their messaging, but I stand by each of them, for sure,' she said.
Gomez also clarified the viral 'one more album' comment she made on a podcast last year about how her next record may be her last before she retires from music.
She explained that it was not meant to be definitive, but she does want to put the focus on her acting career.
'I think it's natural for people to take breaks, but I think for me, there is a whole other aspect to my life, pride and joy,' she explained.
'I love film. I love TV. I just feel like I haven't done a lot of the things that I want to do in that space,' she continued.
'It's not that it's "no, never" [to music], it's more that I would like to explore that world a bit more and have the time to actually do that.'
Gomez also told the outlet that she 'hopes' her next album will be available for her fans to listen to sometime this year.
As for SG4, her upcoming fourth studio album, she said it will not be similar to her last two singles.
'I guess it's safe to say that Single Soon and Love On might not be really reflective of the project that I'm working on,' she said, teasing her forthcoming release.
'They are in spirit, but I'm excited to explore more styles of music, and I think people will hopefully be surprised by the contrast,' she added.
'I like releasing songs that I love and I care about,' she continued. 'I just released them into the world and later comes the full album.'
This comes after she started dating record producer, Benny Blanco.
In the past, she opened up about her relationships and breakups, describing some of her former partners as 'toxic'.
Before the beginning of her new, happy relationship with the record producer, she frequently took social media breaks whenever she was caught in drama or facing public backlash.
Last year, she was entangled in a rumoured feud with her ex-boyfriend's wife.
She also disappeared for a bit after she faced backlash for not making a clear stance on the Israel-Hamas conflict in October 2023.
Most recently, she took a brief 24-hour absence from social media after the viral drama at the Golden Globes involving her former co-star Timothee Chalamet and his girlfriend Kylie Jenner.
Over the years, she has also been vocal about mental health advocacy as she opened up about her own struggles following a lupus diagnosis a decade ago.
In 2022, she also released her documentary, Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me in which she detailed her years-long journey with lupus and opened up about her mental health.
She was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease in 2013 and later revealed her diagnosis to the public in her October 2015 cover story with Billboard.
