Ghanaian-produced reality show hit GH Queens has earned its first Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMCVA) for Best Unscripted Series at the 10th edition of the awards event.
The show was one of two Ghanaian nominations at the AMVCAs.
While Nana Akoto's nomination in the Best Indigenous Language Film category showcased Ghanaian filmmaking talent, it was the reality show GH Queens that brought home the gold.
“Being nominated alongside so much talent was an honor in itself,” Ayebea ‘BZ’ Darko, creator of the show, said. “Thank you to everyone who believed and supported our show.”
This award marked the sole win for Ghana at the event this year, and not only recognizes Darko's achievements on screen but also serves as an international endorsement, affirming that she is on the right track.
In case you haven’t seen the show, GH Queens is available to stream on Showmax.
