Lamine Yamal’s father, Mounir Nasraoui, has reportedly been taken to hospital after being stabbed in a car park in Catalonia.
La Vanguardia are reporting that Nasraoui is in a “serious” condition after the incident which took place on Wednesday evening in Mataro.
However, Relevo have a more hopeful update and report that Yamal’s father is “out of danger” already and has been discharged from hospital.
Other details are scarce at the moment but police are already involved and there are said to be several eye-witnesses who saw what happened.
The report adds that the motives behind the attack are still unclear, but there is a suggestion it “could have been the result of a previous fight.”
Yamal has been back at Barcelona following a successful Euro 2024 campaign with Spain and made his first appearance of pre-season in the Gamper Trophy as a substitute.
