9-Year-Old Ghanaian, DJ Zel Makes Waves On Radio In The UK

Zelda Nana Yaa Adepa Dedaa Manteaw popularly known as DJ Zel, a UK-based Ghanaian child DJ, has become of the youngest Disc Jockeys to ever play on the radio in the UK, just less than 7 months after she started her career as a DJ.

The nine-year DJ currently hosts the UniAfrik Show on GN Radio based in the UK.

DJ Zel in an interview, was elated about her dream on playing on the radio as she seeks to entertain and make people happy.

”My dream is to make Ghana proud of my works. I took up to Djing because I wanted to entertain people and I love to make people happy all the time.

”It’s been challenging being the youngest DJ playing on the radio, am ready for the challenge and working hard to make my brand unique,” she said

She also revealed her plans of working with DJ Switch, another young Ghanaian DJ as they open a new chapter in DJing.

”I’m proud of what DJ Switch is doing for Ghana, I can’t wait to meet her and learn new things and make Ghana proud of us.

”I have plans with my management team, Zel Promotions, to work with DJ Switch, DJ Arch Jnr from South Africa, Success, and Emmanuelle from Nigeria, on an advocacy project to help curb infighting and violent behavior among youth in the African communities here in the UK,” she said.

She also announced plans to visit Ghana in July as she embarks on an advocacy initiative on environmental education and other charity works.

‘I Still Feel Young And Hungry For More Awards’ : Sarkodie

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rappers, Sarkodie has expressed his desire for more accolades in his music career whilst stressing that his Artist of the Decade award shows how far he has come in the game and his contribution to the music industry in general.

“I still feel young and hungry for more and when I was nominated I realized how long I have been in the game and also with those great people also in the nomination list. When I was announced I realize how far my works have gone’’ he told Rev Erskine host of the ‘Myd Morning’ show on YFM.

During the same interview, Sarkodie mentioned Ghanaian actor and comedian Agya Koo as his favorite Ghanaian comedian. Sarkodie used the opportunity to appeal to the organizers of forthcoming Music Magic Comedy happening at the International Conference Centre (AICC) which is scheduled to take place on June 29 to allow him to perform first so that he can sit and enjoy the other performances.

’ I like magic and comedy but I don’t get the opportunity to enjoy such performances because I usually end the show. This time around let me be the first to perform so I can enjoy the show especially the magic’’ he appealed.

“Ladder” Was My Breakthrough Music, It Opened A Lot Of Doors Of Opportunity For Me : Lil Win Reveals

Ghana’s favourite comedian, actor, musician and entrepreneur Kojo Nkansah Lilwin, has revealed that his biggest and favourite song since he started music as a career is ‘Ladder’. A song he released in June 2017.

The comic actor cum musician made this revelation when he was speaking exclusively to Eben Owurachy of Kessben TV.

Lilwin, who was very emotional during the interview disclosed that the ‘Ladder’ song opened a lot of opportunities for him as a musician. He emphasized that the song got him a lot of gigs and made him ‘cement’ his position as a formidable musician.

The song which featured Odehyie Ba from Kumasi got Lilwin his first ever VGMA nomination in 2018. Lilwin also used the opportunity and talked about the controversies spreading on social media about his career and personal life. He stated that these negative stories about him are signs that God has destined him for greatness.

He finally explained that he has not stopped acting as perceived by a lot of Ghanaians and that acting is his first love. Lilwin proudly stated that on any day he will choose acting over music.
