Listen: Idahossa — Anointing

Published

on

Being an artist, to many, has always been about glam, fame, and money. To others, being an artist means more.

Ghanaian singer/songwriter Idahossa is one of such acts that believes that as you strive to be famous, live a glamorous life, and enjoy the financial benefits of being an artist, you should always aspire to create more impact with the music you make. To him, music should be able to stir up the emotions of people and leave a lasting impression on the listener regardless of the theme the song is built around.

As a result, he embarked on a lengthy music break to find his mojo, a new direction, and an eclectic sound. He bounced back earlier this year with his “debut” song, Ocean. The reggae fusion song was Idahossa’s way of exploring his sexual desires and fantasies. The song was widely accepted and well received by people as the contents of the song resonated with them.

The success of the Ocean and the continuous growth of his audience has influenced his decision to release his second single of the year, Anointing.

As young sexually active people, our thirst for love and will to express romance while maintaining a decent sensual approach will always be in abundance. Finding a balance between such romance and intimacy is the core inspiration for this “Anointing” song composed by Idahossa. The Okukuseku produced sonic is a fusion of the reggae and afrobeat genre that has become quite popular in the Eastern and Western parts of Africa. In this, Idahossa expresses his will to stay by his lover and spend as much time together. He goes on to assert that all he truly wants to do is be by her as she lays it all on him and anoints their love with exclusive intimacy.

Idahossa interpolates part of the 2011 hit song “I’m Into You” by multiple award-winning American stars Jennifer Lopez and Lil Wayne. The song was mixed by Obrimpong, with additional vocals from Esi Chelle and CK Narh.
