Amazon Unveils New Echo Studio With 3D Audio, Plus More New Speakers

Published

on

Among a suite of new additions to its Echo smart speaker family, Amazon has unveiled the high-end Echo Studio, touted as its “best-sounding” of the bunch yet.

Once plugged in, the model’s built-in Alexa microphones automatically sense the acoustics of the surrounding room and fine-tune playback accordingly. The system supports 3D audio, through both Dolby Atmos and Sony’s 360 Reality Audio system, along with Amazon Music HD, the platform’s brand-new tier of high-quality streaming audio.

For the techies, it’s got five drivers: A 1-inch tweeter, three 2-inch midrange speakers, and a 5.25-inch woofer. The device is available for pre-order at $199.99, and will be released on Nov. 7.

According to a release, Amazon is also working with the three major record labels to bring their libraries to the Echo Studio’s 3D format “over time.” Soon, the Studio’s high-quality experience will also be available through Tidal HiFi.

“We love hearing feedback from customers about how they use Alexa throughout their day — whether that’s listening to music, dropping in on a loved one, trying out a new recipe, or playing a game with the family,” Amazon Alexa senior vp Tom Taylor explained in a release. “We hope these new Echo devices will give customers even more ways to access Alexa.”

At its fall 2019 hardware event, Amazon released seven other Echo additions, edging in on competitors like the Sonos One, Apple HomePod and Google Home. Those are the updated original Echo; the wireless Echo Flex; the Echo Dot with an LED clock; the Echo Show 8 with an 8-inch HD screen; Echo Buds wireless earbuds; and two Alexa-equipped products available by invite only: Echo Frames glasses and Echo Loop, a “smart ring.”

The new products come as smart speakers continue to grow in popularity: According to the latest Smart Audio report by NPR and Edison Research, 21% of Americans — or around 53 million people — now own at least one smart speaker.

More about the Echo Studio in Amazon’s promotional video below, where artists like Charlie Puth and Rick Ross test out the system.

Instagram Verifies Shatta Bandle’s Account

Published

Self acclaim world youngest billionaire, Shatta Bandle, has been verified by Instagram. This is news to us because he becomes the first of his kind to secure the blue badge.

In this sense, we mean he is the first among the Ghanaian social media sensations, who became popular on social media for one thing or another, to have secured the verification badge. We’ve seen the likes of Rashida Black Beauty, Two Thoozing, Ghana Tupac among others but their relevance did not reach an Instagram verification level.

This feat projects that Shatta Bandle is here to stay, unlike the others. Announcing his verification, Bandle wrote “Congratulations to my self. I’m verified as a billionaire By Instagram, no more fake billionaire creating my fake profiles. How can Instagram verify you if you have audio money?

‘Why We Haven’t Suspended President Trump’s Account’ : Twitter Explains

Published

President Trump

Twitter has clarified when it will enforce rules against “world leaders” saying unless Trump explicitly violates Twitter’s rules, leaving no room for interpretation, the company will do nothing.

“We focus on the language of reported Tweets and do not attempt to determine all potential interpretations of the content or its intent” Twitter said in a blog post.

Twitter’s blog post comes in the wake of a series of controversial tweets from Trump that drew condemnation from Sen. Kamala Harris, a Democrat representing California and running for the party’s nomination for president, who called for Twitter to suspend him.

“Trump’s tweets about the whistleblower represent a clear intent to harass, intimidate, or silence their voice. His blatant threats put people at risk and our democracy in danger. His account must be suspended” Harris wrote in an open letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey.

The company spelled out a series of “enforcement scenarios” under which it would take action, including promotion of terrorism, clear and direct threats of violence, posting private information or intimate photos, child sexual exploitation, or promoting self-harm.
