Arsenal Receive Thomas Partey Transfer Boost After Atletico Agree Lucas Torreira Terms

Published

on

Atletico Madrid have reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira as they want the 24-year-old to replace Thomas Partey should he leave this summer.

Arsenal have made Partey their number one transfer target but they first have to offload some fringe players to raise funds for the Ghana international.

Atletico will not let Partey leave for any less than his £45million release clause.

Negotiations for both players are expected to take place separately.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Torreira has agree to move to the Spanish capital.

However, Atletico must now agree a fee or loan terms with the Gunners.

“Lucas Torreira has agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid,” Romano tweeted. “He’s keen to join but agreement with Arsenal has not been reached yet.

“Atleti need to sell Hector Herrera to sign Torreira.”

Arsenal have had to take calculated risks in this transfer window and they raised £20m by selling Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa.

Another couple of stars are expected to be moved on before the north Londoners can make a formal approach for Partey.
