Black Stars Head Coach, Milovan Rajevac Sacked

Published

on

Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac, has been sacked, KUBILIVE can report.

The decision was taken following a meeting between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ghana Football Association in the aftermath of Ghana’s group-stage exit from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations last week.

Rajevac, 67, who returned for a second stint with the Black Stars in September 2021, supervised a disappointing AFCON campaign in Cameroon where Ghana picked up just one point from their three group stage games, finishing bottom of Group C.

The Sports Ministry summoned the GFA to a meeting on Friday, January 21, 2022, in which they directed the country’s football governing body to review the coach’s position because the people of Ghana “have lost confidence in the technical team’s ability to deliver success.”

This comes after the government announced, via an Executive Instrument (E.I), that the popular reserve is no longer a forest reserve.

The E.I, which was signed by Lands and Natural Resources Minister Samuel Abdulai Jinapor, states that the land is no longer needed as a forest reserve.

It also stated that the ban will take effect on May 1, 2022.

“An Executive Instrument (E.I.) 144 gazetted on behalf of President Akufo-Addo by the Lands Minister Samuel Abdulai Jinapor indicates that effective May 1, 2022, the land on which the Forest is located shall cease to be a forest reserve.”

“The President’s action was in accordance with Section 19 of the Forest Act, 1927 (CAP. 157) which gives him the authority to declare that particular land is no longer required as a forest reserve,” a portion of the E.I said.

Over 15 Hearts Of Oak Players Hospitalized As Strange Disease Hits Camp

Published

on

Accra Hearts of Oak have been hit by a strange disease that has left about 15 players hospitalized in Accra.

The first to be rushed to the hospital for treatment was attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh, who reportedly had symptoms of cough, cold, and malaria.

On Sunday night, midfielder Fredrick Ansah Botchway was also rushed to the Mamprobi Polyclinic for treatment after complaining of similar symptoms.

Other players, such as Nurudeen Abdul Aziz, have been taken ill at the Universal Clinic in Madina, while Seidu Suraj and Amankwah Baafi have also been admitted.

Other players who have not yet been named have been reported to have visited the hospital for treatment and are currently on medication.

Sulley Muntari, Samuel Inkoom, and Gladson Awako, on the other hand, have escaped the illness.

Only five players reported for training on Monday, with the majority of the stars unable to attend with only two days until the game.

The situation may have an impact on Hearts of Oak’s midweek match against Bibiani Gold Stars on Wednesday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Due to their inability to raise enough players for the match, the defending champions may request that their match be postponed.

Although the club has not determined the cause of the disease, it appears that food poisoning is not the cause of the widespread illness at the Hearts of Oak camp.

According to reports, the hotel where the team stayed was possibly infested with mosquitoes. Hearts of Oak who used to camp at Accra’s San Hotel have moved to another hotel.
