Closing Down Churches, A Big Mistake : Bra Paul To President

Published

on

Bra Paul

Gospel musician, Bra Paul has quashed in an interview the idea by the president to close down churches in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic.

On Sunday, 15-03-2020, His Excellency, the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo whiles addressing the nation with regards to the deadly coronavirus which has taken the world on a standstill, he mentioned that social distancing and self-isolation are one of the major solutions to curb the virus, hence, he urged all churches, mosques, and schools to close down with immediate effect until further notice.

As some would agree with the president’s initiative, the majority of Christians especially founders and leaders of some churches in Ghana think the president was harsh with his decision and Bra Paul is in total support with the laters argument.

The Bibiaa Beye Fine crooner in an interview explained that closing down churches and mosques in the name of preventing public gatherings while pubs, drinking spots, commercial transports ( trotro and intercity buses) and major markets are still in operation doesn’t make sense to him.

“ I admire the president a lot but he got it wrong this time around. Closing down churches in these dangerous times is the last call the president should make. Why take God out of the equation while fighting a deadly virus like this?

I know the idea was to help prevent the further spread of the virus but, we still have busy and crowded places like the betting companies, pubs and drinking spots, market places like agbogbloshie, makola, Kanashie, Mallam markets amongst others. These should be the prime target of the president as I believe most of the above-mentioned places have larger crowds than some of these churches” .

“Take the markets and commercial transports for instance where customers always exchange monies with bus conductors or traders and it is said that, such acts are contributing factors to the spread of the virus. Chances are always high for people onboard a commercial bus to get this virus due to their crowded nature and I believe the president before closing down churches was aware of all these?” He asked.

The artiste further explained though it is possible for Christians to stay in their various homes and pray, these prayers turn to be more effective when they converge in their numbers to pray.

“ When you read the books of Acts 2:4, it tells you how important it is for believers to gather and pray. God believes in numbers and I know if His excellency whose mantra has always been ‘ the battle is the lord’s’ will reconsider his decision, it will go a long way to help combat this virus together. Instead of a total shutdown, Churches should be allowed to fellowship and pray on behalf of the nation with rules of a 2-3 meters sitting distance between the member, no handshakes and hugging, compulsory usage of hand sanitizers provided by the church.

Bra Paul again encouraged his fans to frequently wash their hands with soap under running water, use hand sanitizers as quickly as possible, avoid shaking of hands and practice personal hygiene.

Official Video Of Mugeez’s ‘Chihuahua’ Out On Friday

Published

Mugeez

Chief Executive Officer of Extrial Music Records, Rashid Mugeez known in the music scene as Mugeez of R2Bees is ready with the visuals of his recently released single dubbed ‘Chihuahua’.

The song which is released under his own record label, Extrial Music is a mid-tempo contemporary high life jam produced by Zodivc, the official video was directed and shot by David Duncan and it stars the ‘Sisa’ hitmaker, King Promise.

Mugeez says the song was inspired by his life experiences, “I tell my stories through my music and ‘Chihuahua’ is one of those events”. The romantic vibe of ‘Chihuahua’ drags its listener in and for sure is replay-material.

‘Chihuahua’ which is his first single in 2020, was pre-released on March 13, 2020, and officially releases on March 27, 2020, on all digital music shops and on Extrial Music’s YouTube Channel. The title of the song best describes the dog breed Chihuahuas who are not inherently shivery, shaky or scared. They are Alert, projecting the ‘terrier-like’ attitudes of self- importance, confidence and self-reliance. Mugeez described his imaginary lover to a Chihuahua

Mugeez‘s unique voice is loved by Afrobeats fans all over the world and ‘Chihuahua’ is another first-class example of his excellence which is a warm-up to his about to be released Solo EP this year. “I will be releasing a couple of singles which are not same as the ones on the EP before dropping the main tape at the latter part of this year.”

The video for ‘Chihuahua’ showcases the landscape of Tema, in the outskirts of Accra, with a colourful and creative setup. The idea for the video came from Mugeez himself, who wanted to include models as a representation of the choices the protagonist of the song “Chihuahua” has. But it is actually the wooden statue he is in love with, who unfortunately is the one not seeming to listen to him.

He revealed that “2020 will be the year to establish my solo career, while continuously working on R2Bees projects. There are quite a few big projects lined up and I can’t wait to show my fans a whole new side of me.”

The video will be available on Extrial Music YouTube on Friday, March 27, 2020.
