Chelsea Face Champions League Group Of Death Draw With Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, And Rennes Possible Opponents

Published

on

Chelsea could be handed a nightmare ‘group of death’ when the Champions League draw is made tomorrow.

Frank Lampard’s side are with Man Utd and Man City in Pot 2 while Premier League champions Liverpool fill out the English contingent in the top group.

And it is from Pot 1 where the Blues will be looking to avoid one team in particular.

Chelsea have good memories of beating Bayern Munich on their own turf to lift the European title in 2012.

But surely no one would fancy taking on the reigning champs in their current rampant form.

The 8-2 demolition job of Barcelona – over one leg, remember – in the summer is still fresh in everyone’s memory.

And though that came against a club in crisis, the threat Robert Lewandowski – surely robbed of the Ballon d’Or this year – and Thomas Muller perpetually pose makes them the ones to avoid.

Further down in Pot 3, Inter Milan’s team of stars under Antonio Conte – up against his old club – could prove difficult.

And below them again in the bottom pot lie current Ligue 1 leaders Rennes.

The French team’s ex-goalkeeper Edouard Mendy recently joined Lampard’s side so he should know how to handle them.

Saying that though, Rennes have started off unbeaten this season with four wins from five games and 12 goals scored already.

This season will test teams’ fitness levels and squad depth like never before.

So it’s a good job Lampard has been so busy this summer, signing seven players in all.

The Champions League does not start until October 20 as a result of the pandemic and delayed season starts across Europe.

But teams are set to have to play six fiercely competitive European ties during the most congested season in history – possibly complicating their Premier League ambitions as well.

Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Tests Positive For Coronavirus Again

Published

on

Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus for a second time.

The Juventus star was first diagnosed with the illness while on Portugal duty earlier in the month. But nine days after his initial positive test, the football is still infectious.

According to Portuguese newspaper Correio de Manha, Ronaldo’s latest results came back positive on Thursday, October 22.

The publication claims Ronaldo’s test gave a very low viral load despite returning positive, with Juventus still hopeful he could recover in time to feature in the Champions League game.

The club will likely ask UEFA for permission to test Ronaldo 48 hours before the game on October 28.

It will be up to the European football body to decide whether or not to allow such a request to go ahead because a player must test negative at least one week before a match to be considered for selection, according to UEFA protocol.

All Branches Of Obinim’s Churches Closed Down

Published

on

Information that has reached us at KUBILIVE has is that all the branches of Bishop Obinim’s International Godsway Chapel have been closed down.

In a report available, the closure of Obinim’s churches is in line with his churches’ inability to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols which direct churches to observe social distancing, washing of hands, use of hand sanitizers, two hours of service etc..

Since the inception of these safety protocols, some churches though not soo comfortable are obeying just to keep the place of worship running because they can’t bear the sight of losing members.

In the case of Bishop Obinim, he cannot on every meeting day follow these precautionary measures hence closing down all the branches to save him from having any issues with the government.

The rules are too much for IGWC, Obinim, and fans, we can’t adhere to them. We don’t want to have any issues with the government.

If I want to go by the protocols I will be conducting a lot of services. First, second, third, and even more than a hundred.” One of Obinim’s junior pastors reportedly said.

As we are still in the COVID-19 season, I’ll beseech all to follow strictly the preventive methods laid down in the fight against the deadly virus.

One thing should be clear here, the novel coronavirus is no respecter of person therefore it will be more prudent for all to just follow and stay safe. These rules play a major role in the risk reduction method in this fight.

In other news, Astute Media Personality Nisirine Naa Ashorkor Mensah-Doku has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

The news broke out after she went on social media to reveal her status after testing for the virus.

Sharing the information to the general public via social media, the Asaase Radio presenter/actress disclosed that the COVID-19 is real hence everybody should make sure to be on the safer side by protecting themselves.
