Published

Chikel Baibe

Chikel Baibe, a new female singer has expressed delight in the fact that Ebony’s ever imposing musical shadow has finally been cast off her career for her fans to enjoy her true identity. Owing to the signing of a new artiste by the late Ebony’s father, Mr. Kwarteng, Chikel Baibe believes this single act is enough to wean fans off seeing and referring to her as an “Ebony-like” act.

Chikel Baibe who just completed S.H.S about a week now seems to be happy about the announcement by Ebony’s father. Mr. Kwarteng has introduced a new artist under his records label to represent her daughter and continue her legacy.

She believed with this news people are now going to stop tagging her name and music under Ebony Reigns shadow.

“It’s relevant for entertainment critics to appreciate the statement by Chikel Baibe because she acknowledged the influential brand and the level of impact Ebony had on the music industry. However, she wants her own brand to precede her career” — Hakeem Ellis, CEO of Hakell Entertainment, (a custodian label for Chikel Baibe).

Taking to her Instagram page, @Chikelbaibe posts.

“Thanks be to God, now that starboy-kwarteng has introduced the Ebony replacement under #Bonytotheworld _Records I believe people will stop tagging me under the shadows of the Late dancehall Queen Ebony and appreciate my talent without tagging me as Ebony replacement.

Is about time Ghanaians realize am Chikel Baibe and not Ebony …

Few months ago Chikel dropped a song titled ‘kweku’ featuring Amwan which is doing very well enjoy it below.

Chikel Baibe is currently preparing to release a fresh single featuring award-winning rapper Tee Phlow (@teephlowgh) — produced by Danny Beatz.

Lauren London has recently filed to establish guardianship over her 2-year-old son with Nipsey Hussle, Kross Asghedom.

London filed the documents, in which she also said that Kross is reportedly “anticipated to inherit approximately $1 million” from Nipsey Hussle’s estate.

In the documents, London states that she is already taking care of Kross Asghedom, and if granted sole guardianship she will look out for his “best interests” as he receives the hefty inheritance from his late father.

She also reportedly wants to be his guardian so that she can continue to participate in any ongoing legal matters with Nipsey’s estate and probate on his behalf.

A rep for London is quoted as saying, “this is a private matter and Lauren has not and will not make any statements. We asked that everyone respect their need for privacy. Thank you.”

Nipsey Hussle’s Clothing Store Could Be Seized For Gang Activity

Published

on

Nipsey Hussle

Nipsey Hussle and his Marathon Clothing store in Los Angeles were the subject of a police investigation when the rapper was fatally shot outside the shop on March 31, The New York Times reports.

The investigation remains open as police and the city attorney’s office contemplate whether to declare the store’s strip mall a site for gang activity, which would allow officials to fine the property’s remaining owners and even seize the property under so-called abatement laws.

Hussle and partners purchased the commercial plaza earlier this year after Marathon Clothing’s former landlords were reportedly pressured to evict the rapper as part of the probe.

The investigation looks especially odd now after city officials, including Mayor Eric Garcetti and Police Commissioner Steve Soboroff, publicly mourned Hussle’s death. Garcetti praised the rapper born Ermias Asghedom as an “artist, entrepreneur, activist and philanthropist” who “loved this city and gave of himself to uplift his neighborhood and his neighbors,” and the city council named the strip mall’s intersection at Crenshaw and Slauson after him.

Hussle was a member of the Rollin’ 60s Crips who was known to invest in the community and support and employ former gang members; he planned to build apartments on the strip.

Thousands gathered at the plaza to mourn and pay tribute during the weeks following Hussle’s death. Marathon Clothing has however remained closed since the shooting.

The ongoing investigation endangers the store’s future and Hussle’s development plans, as Marqueece Harris-Dawson, a city council member representing South Los Angeles, points out. “I think everybody in the community will do everything we can to make sure the ventures he started will continue,” he told the Times. “And this is a very confusing hiccup in this process.” You can read the full report here.

Hussle’s alleged killer Eric Holder currently faces one count of murder, two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a firearm, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. Police have said the shooting was not gang-related. Holder has pleaded not guilty.
