FIFA 20: Bruno Fernandes And Odion Ighalo Added To Manchester United Squad With Updated Ratings

With a top four place still within grasp for Manchester United this season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer strengthened their squad with two high-profile additions in the winter transfer window with midfielder Bruno Fernandes and striker Odion Ighalo joining the club in January.

Fernandes joined United from Sporting CP for an initial fee of £45million plus incentive-driven add-ons, whilst Ighalo joined the club on transfer deadline day in a loan deal from Chinese club Shanghai Greenland Shenhua.

Fernandes has already made his debut for United, impressing in the 0-0 draw with Wolves at Old Trafford on January 31 and will add much needed creativity and quality to the United squad.

With the January transfer window now in the distant past, EA SPORTS have updated the FIFA 20 database to include the latest transfers, with Fernandes and Ighalo added to the United squad in the latest update.

Here is how they rate after being confirmed as United players in FIFA 20.

Best attributes: Stamina (92), penalties (90), long shots (89), shot power (89), vision (88), FK accuracy (87), long passing (87), ball control (87), curve (86), composure (86), short passing (86) and volleys (86)

The new United midfielder has some impressive attributes on FIFA 20, suggesting that he’s a technically skilled midfield play-maker who is capable of hurting teams in a variety of ways.

As you can see from his attributes above, Fernandes is a great set piece taker, which means he should take over both free-kick duties and penalty taking duties.

But, Fernandes has also got the stamina and work rate to go with his immense technical quality, which is essential in the modern game.

The new United man has also got a four-star weak foot rating, which means that his left foot is almost as strong as his favoured right. He’s got four-star skill moves too, which shows his technical skill.

In addition, Fernandes has got a high value for attacking and defensive work rate, showing further that he’s not afraid to put a shift in.

Fernandes’ traits on FIFA 20 are Leadership, Flair, Outside Foot Shot, Long Passer, Long Shot Taker and Playmaker, which summarises his profile nicely.

His overall rating of 85 immediately ranks him as one of United’s best players, with only David De Gea (88) and Paul Pogba (87) having a higher overall rating.

But, Fernandes potential rating of 88 means that he can become United’s best outfield player overall in the future, with the Portuguese international still got potential to develop further.

Overall ability: 77/100

Potential ability: 77/00

Best attributes: Acceleration (86), finishing (80), sprint speed (80), strength (78), positioning (77), balance (77), stamina (77), dribbling (77)

According to his FIFA 20 profile, Ighalo is a quick, strong and relatively clinical striker, who has a decent mix of attributes.

His high acceleration and sprint speed attributes, along with his strength and balance, make him a real physical specimen, but he’s got technical quality too.

One of his best attributes is his finishing, also having a decent dribbling attribute too. But, his short passing (69) and long passing (55) attributes are poor, so he’s not a player who FIFA suggests excels in his build-up play. Also, his weak foot rating of three-stars is pretty average.

In terms of overall ability, his 77 rating makes him an average player compared to the players in the United squad, with players like Jesse Lingard (80), Juan Mata (80) and Nemanja Matic (79) having higher overall ratings.

In terms of strikers, Ighalo is behind Marcus Rashford (83) and Anthony Martial (83), but is rated more highly than Mason Greenwood (71).

Trump Signs Executive Orders Banning TikTok And WeChat From Operating In US In 45 Days

President Donald Trump on Thursday August 6, signed executive orders banning social media apps TikTok and WeChat from operating in the US in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies.

The executive orders, one for each app take effect in 45 days.

In the executive order, which declares TikTok a “national emergency”, Mr Trump claims the app “automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users,” such as location data and browsing and search histories, which “threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information — potentially allowing China to track the locations of Federal employees and contractors, build dossiers of personal information for blackmail, and conduct corporate espionage.”

The order regarding TikTok prohibits after 45 days “any transaction by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, with ByteDance Ltd.,” the Chinese company that owns the social media platform.

For WeChat, which allows its users to transfer funds to each other, the order states it will ban financial transactions with Tencent, a Chinese based company. The order states “any transaction that is related to WeChat by any person, or with respect to any property, subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, with Tencent Holdings Ltd. (a.k.a. Téngxùn Kòngg? Y?uxiàn G?ngs?), Shenzhen, China, or any subsidiary of that entity, as identified by the Secretary of Commerce (Secretary) under section 1(c) of this order.”

Trump issued the orders under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, a law that grants the administration sweeping power to bar US firms or citizens from trading or conducting financial transactions with sanctioned parties.

On Monday August 3, Trump said he would support the sale of TikTok’s US operations to Microsoft and set September 15 as the deadline for TikTok to find a US buyer.

He also said the deal would have to include a “substantial amount of money” coming to the US Treasury.

In a statement, Microsoft said its CEO, Satya Nadella, spoke to Mr. Trump and “is prepared to continue discussions to explore a purchase of TikTok in the United States”.

“[Microsoft is] committed to acquiring TikTok subject to a complete security review and providing proper economic benefits to the United States, including the United States Treasury,” the company said.
