‘Takoradi Woman Is An NDC Member’ : Stephen Atubiga

Stephen Atubiga, a former member of the opposition NDC has reacted to the story of the Takoradi Woman’s fake pregnancy and kidnapping saga.

In a post by Stephen, he asserted that the woman at the heart of the discussion, Josephine Mensah is an NDC member.

Mr Atubiga associated his claim to NDC’s petition at the Supreme Court without pink sheets, and the ‘made up’ election figures.

He added that it will come as no surprise if the fake pregnant woman blames Electoral Commission for taking her pregnancy just like her NDC party did in 2020.

Read his post below;

The fake pregnant woman is an NDC member. If her NDC party can fake victory to court without the pink – sheets, and could not even tell the justices of their victory figures when asked. why can’t she also fake her pregnancy? Pregnancy in marriage is an accomplishment /victory, while accomplishment in the election is also a victory.
We should not be surprised if she blames EC for taking her pregnancy just like her NDC party did in 2020.
Please ask uncle Allotey for confirmation.
Challenge, Ghana sweet ooóooo.
Love you all.

In the past few days, news of Josephine Panyin Mensah Simons has had many Ghanaians talking.

When the news of her sudden disappearance broke out, the whole of Ghana especially those from her area of residence was left in fear and anxiety.

Some residents of Columbia, a suburb of Takoradi, hit the streets in an angry protest to demand justice for Josephine Panyin Mensah.

Scores of men and women, some wielding placards with red arm and headbands showcasing their fury, took to the streets to challenge the police findings.

They invoked curses on the police and the Regional Minister Kwabena Okyere Darko for suggesting that she was never pregnant.

Little did we know that Mrs Simons was pulling a fast one on us. Her kidnapping and pregnancy are all hoaxes.

Josephine Panyin Mensah, the woman from Takoradi who was kidnapped and found by the Police finally confessed that she was not pregnant.

The woman amid uncontrollable tears confessed and also has asked forgiveness from her husband Michael Simons.

She conceded to a team of medical and investigation officers attending to her at the Effia-Nkwanta Regional Hospital in the Western Region.

Accra Named As UNESCO World Book Capital For 2023

The Director-General of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, has named Accra (Ghana) as UNESCO World Book Capital for 2023, following the evaluation of the World Book Capital Advisory Committee.

After Guadalajara (Mexico) in 2022, the city of Accra was selected for its strong focus on young people and their potential to contribute to the culture and wealth of Ghana. Accra’s proposed programme seeks to use the power of books to engage these young people, as an effective way of skilling up the next generation.

The city proposed to the committee a broad programme that targets marginal groups with high levels of illiteracy including women, youth, migrants, street children and persons with disabilities. Measures to be implemented include the reinforcing of school and community infrastructure and institutional support for lifelong learning, in order to foster the culture of reading. By championing the publishing sector and other creative industries, the programme also aims to encourage professional skills development to stimulate the country’s socio-economic transformation.

Activities will include the introduction of mobile libraries to reach marginalized groups, the holding of workshops to promote reading and writing of books in different Ghanaian languages, the establishment of skills and training centres for unemployed youth and the organization of competitions to showcase Ghanaian arts and culture and promote inclusivity.

The application form Accra also includes a strong human rights dimension, which aims to raise public awareness about freedom of information and expression, building on its own promotion of these rights as well as its involvement in World Press Freedom Day.

The year of celebrations will start on 23 April 2023, on World Book and Copyright Day.

Cities designated as UNESCO World Book Capital undertake to promote books and reading for all ages and population groups, within and across national borders, and to organize a programme of activities for the year.
