Floyd Mayweather And Conor McGregor

Flamboyant retired boxer, Floyd Mayweather has revealed he didn’t really train hard while preparing for his 2017 mega-fight with Irish UFC champion, Conor McGregor.

The bout ended in a 10th-round TKO victory for Mayweather who picked up his 50th win out of 50 fights in his entire professional career.

Speaking in an interview with Drink Champs, the American undefeated champion admitted that he ‘didn’t really train’ before his fight with McGregor.

‘All I did was do pushups and situps. That’s all I did. Pushups and situps, box a few times, hit the bag a few times. Because, actually, the training camp was in different places.’

‘I would do a training camp in Vegas a few days. Sometimes I wouldn’t go to the gym for a week.

‘I took it serious. Like I said before, I wanted to have some fun in the fight. I wanted to entertain the people.’

Floyd Mayweather reportedly earned £211million for the Las Vegas bout.

Chloroquine Discovered As The Anti-Viral Drug For Coronavirus

Published

Coronavirus

One of the oldest anti-malaria drugs in the world, especially in African, is the Chloroquine.

Now, through the chase for the cure/anti-viral drug for the world-threatening Coronavirus, Chloroquine has been discovered as one of the top 3 antiviral drugs for coronavirus.

Chinese experts through clinical trials in over 10 hospitals have confirmed Chloroquine Phosphate has a curative effect on the novel Coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The deputy head of the China National Center for Biotechnology Development under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Sun Yanrong in a press conference suggested the drug be included in the next version of the treatment guidelines and applied in wider clinical trials as soon as possible.

The world, Africans, in particular, have reacted to the news that Chloroquine is the cure the world has been waiting for.

Whiles some are surprised by the news, others have taken to their various platforms to praise Chinese doctors for doing all they can to arrest the deadly airborne disease.

@iSlimfit: Who would have ever thought that Chloroquine, of all drugs, would be the anti-viral drug for Coronavirus. Those medical researchers deserve a medal.

@Harri_Obi: Lol. It has been revealed that Chloroquine cures Coronavirus and now It all makes sense why no African died of the disease.

– Nigerian hospitals used to give us that drug-like candy, growing up. If you search our systems, I’m sure you’d still find remnants of the drug inside.

@kunle_pata: Who knows if it’s Flagyl that would cure HIV since Chloroquine is gonna cure coronavirus ?

@BhadmusAkeem: It is interesting to know that Chloroquine phosphate that used to itch our body back in those days, has proven effective in treating coronavirus #COVID19 and shows positive clinical effects. The stone that the builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.

@iambestb: Chloroquine that was banned in Nigeria has proved to be an anti-viral drug for Corona Virus after showing promising results in trials across 10 hospitals. Who would’ve thought Chloroquine?

@Kinglamarr___: Who would have thought Chloroquine would be the cure for coronavirus?

– Well, I think Nigerian doctors would have because they’d give you malaria dose first for any sickness you might have.

Already, Coronavirus has killed over a thousand people in China and a few other cases in other countries.

Man Utd Could Accept £50M For Record £89m Signing Pogba In Summer

Published

Pogba

Manchester United might be forced to accept a hefty loss on Paul Pogba if they sell their record signing this summer, with Real Madrid valuing him at no more than £50million.

Dailymail claims there is an acceptance at the club and in Pogba’s camp that it would be in everyone’s interests for the Frenchman to be sold at the end of another disappointing season.

Pogba has played just 71 minutes since September due to a recurring injury in his right ankle. He is up to a month away from full fitness and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was last week unable to offer a categorical assurance that he will play for United again.

Bids in excess of £150m could have brought United to the negotiating table last summer but the 26-year-old’s market value has declined because he will only have a year left on his contract in July.

United can extend it by 12 months, but there is a feeling that they would do well to recoup the £89m he cost to sign from Juventus in 2016 — a world record at the time.

The combination of his prolonged absence and the storm being whipped up by his outspoken agent Mino Raiola — as he tries for the third summer window running to get his client out of Old Trafford — could drive the price down further.

Madrid were thought to be favourites to sign Pogba after boss Zinedine Zidane targeted his French compatriot but a move to the Bernabeu looks unlikely.

Real president Florentino Perez’s priority is to prise Neymar or Kylian Mbappe away from Paris Saint-Germain.

Juventus are also limited financially and would have to sell first or offer a player in a deal — as they did last summer when trying to swap Paulo Dybala for United’s Romelu Lukaku, who joined Inter Milan instead.

Footballer Suspended For Five Years For Biting Opponent’s Penis During A Match In France

France

An amateur player was handed five years ban in a local league for biting one of his opponents’ penis during a post-match fight in France.

The incident reportedly occurred after a second division game between Terville and Soetrich in a local league that ended 1 – 1 on 17 November 2019.

According to a local news website in Lorraine, a player from each side started fighting, another Terville player joined in, apparently trying to separate them. The Soetrich player responded by biting the peacemaker’s penis. The victim required about 10 stitches and had to take four days off work.

‘The events took place after the match, in the stadium car park. There was an altercation, an escalation and things got worse,’ said Emmanuel Saling of the Mosellan football district, adding that the blame was ‘more or less shared’.

Saling also said that because the ‘case was quite original’, the disciplinary committee had called an expert witness before deciding to suspend the Soetrich player for five years.

The injured Terville player was also suspended for six months for his part in the fight.

‘It’s quite rare to have sanctions of several years, there are less than 10 per year,’ Saling said. ‘The case was a bit saucy, but … there must have been some nasty tension, so the smiles on the disciplinary committee quickly faded.’

The publication also revealed that the two clubs were punished with two penalty points and a fine of 200 euros ‘for failing to meet their safety obligations’ and ‘for the lack of reaction from club officials when the fight broke out.’
