I Don’t Have Much Respect For Them Off The Pitch : Pep Guardiola Slams Arsenal

Published

Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has slammed Arsenal by saying he doesn’t have much respect for the team off the pitch.

Guardiola’s team lost to his former assistant Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday as Man City suffered their first domestic cup defeat in more than two-and-a-half years.

Guardiola’s statement could be as a result of reports that Arsenal was part of a group of Premier League clubs that wrote to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) asking them to refuse any attempt from Manchester City to delay a two-year Champions League ban.

I don

“We didn’t play the first half against Arsenal like the second, that was the only regret. We wanted to play 90 minutes like the second half,” Guardiola told reporters

“But, after we were beaten, we shake hands. The opponents always deserve my respect and credit. And Arsenal, I have all the respect for what they are on the pitch, not much off the pitch – but on the pitch, a lot. Congratulations to them and good luck in the final.”

We Are Not Removing NDC Supporters Names From Voters Register : EC Refutes John Mahama’s ‘Unfounded Allegations’

The Electoral Commission (EC) has debunked claims to the effect that the Electoral Management Body is carrying out an agenda to remove the names of National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) supporters and sympathizers from the voters’ register.

The EC is asking the general public to disregard the allegations, stressing it is false. “The Commission has, from the beginning of the compilation of the Voters Register, lived up to its motto: Fairness, Transparency, and Accountability.

Indeed, at every point, we have provided factual, accurate, and evidence-based information to our Stakeholders on voter statistics per region, district, gender, age among others. To date, every interested Ghanaian has information on the number of persons who registered in the just concluded Voter Registration Exercise based on the information we provided.

“It is a paradox, therefore, to suggest that the same Commission now seeks to remove persons from the Voters Register. Had that been the agenda of the Commission, it would not have given detailed information to Stakeholders throughout the Registration process. We assure the General Public that these allegations are unfounded,” a statement by the Electoral Commission read.
