I Have Never Been Afraid To Be A Game Changer : Lady Prempeh

Published

Lady Prempeh

Lady Prempeh the ‘Odo yi wohe’ hitmaker who has been out of the music seems for some time now, has given an exclusive interview revealing, how hypocrisy in the gospel fraternity almost made her regret doing a collaboration with Asem of ‘Give me Blow’ fame.

She stated in the interview how she started singing at age 5 in her local Church of Pentecost in Kwadaso Estate, Kumasi where she grew up, and her fondness for Daughters of Glorious Jesus, memorizing and performing their songs in churches and at crusades.

“I Love traditional gospel, but I always wanted to do something different, I wanted to stand out, something that will bring my gospel music to a wider audience.”

The 2005 new gospel artist of the year recounts how fellow gospel artist attacked and ridiculed her when she did the collaboration with ASEM of lynx entertainment fame in 2008.

“Asem was very popular then, and I believed doing a collaboration with him at that time would bring gospel music to a wider youth audience. The song became very popular, but I had a lot of backlash from people who I thought would support me. Despite that, I carried on promoting and gained more fans”

She continued, “I believe if you have a good heart and mind towards anything you do, you will succeed so I have never been afraid to be a game changer”

“If you are a musician you should be able to do any sort of music since I took that step many years ago I have noticed that lots of artists both gospel and circular like the missing Castro, Sarkodie, Nacee, Hertty Borngrate, Nero X and others are also doing similar things.”

“I know I wasn’t the first as the old artist use to do songs that covered all subjects. But I faced a lot of pressure and had to overcome a lot at the time I took that step”.

Lady Prempeh is currently in the studio working on some new materials and is hoping to thrill her fans with yet more surprises and new directions for her brand, she urges her fans to follow her on her social media platforms, so they are first to be in the know. We wish her all the best.

Kofi Robert Hands Over Strika’s Money To Him

Published

Strika

After months of back and forth between Ghanaian movie actor, Emmanuel Nii Adom Quaye alias Strika of “Beast Of No Nation” fame and his handlers, Kofi Robert and Kobina Sam have come to an end. Kofi Robert has finally handed over the remaining of Strika’s money to him and his family.

Kofi Robert met the Joy TV crew led by MzGee who is championing the cause, Strika, and her family at the Greater Accra Regional Police Commander’s office.

Kofi Robert came with the bank statement detailing what the GH¢102,000 which was paid to Strika as his salary for acting in Beast of No Nations was used for.

The handler of Strika, Kofi Robert then proceeded to hand over GH¢40,000 remaining out of the GH¢102,000 to the family. He is no more a signatory to the account as he used to be.

Kofi Robert went on to reveal that, Strika always came to him when he needed money so it came as shock to know that he was on air complaining of being broke when he had just given him GH¢1000 as upkeep money.

“I was alerted by friends that Emma had been on air making certain statements and I was surprised. My understanding was that he needed money and whenever he needs money, he always calls me, we meet at the Osu Barclays bank and I withdraw the money for him,” Kofi Robert explained.

“I just gave him money (GH¢1000) for his upkeep so for me to hear he needed money again last week was surprising,” he added.

Many people believe with his streetlife mentality, Strika may squander all the money in no time but the young actor has assured he will learn a vocation and turn his life around since he has no interest in school.
