Ghanaian Jazz singer, Stephanie Benson, has disclosed how breast cancer killed her mum at age 48 and how angry she was because her mother failed to reveal to her what she was going through.

Stephanie Benson, who is championing breast cancer awareness, stated that her late mother would have lived longer if she hadn’t kept her breast cancer a secret.

It can be recalled that Stephanie was diagnosed of breast cancer when was 48 years which is the same age her mum died from it.

“My mother died at 48 and that was the age I was diagnosed so I had a gene test and it came back at 20 percent. You can’t take those chances. My mum had it on one breast and when it came on the other breast she decided not to have the surgery.

“She didn’t tell us she had cancer until she was dying. I can’t say how angry I was. I think she cheated us on it. I had three kids then. When she was ill and dying, the doctors didn’t want to tell us and that was so outrageous. I remember creating a fuss at the hospital. I couldn’t do much for her,” she recalled hosting Mamavi.

Stephanie Benson encouraged Ghanaians, especially women, to take advantage of the Breast Cancer awareness month which is October to screen themselves for early detection.

“Not having your breast checked might be the bad thing to do. I have had surgeries. I didn’t want to take any chances. I wanted to be around for my grandchildren. No lady should be scared to go check herself,” she said added.

Meanwhile Stephanie Benson has been made the breast cancer Ambassador to create more awareness of the deadly disease.

Kanye West’s move to trademark “Sunday Service” has been shut down as the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office rejected his application to register the name because someone else has already claimed its ownership.

The American rapper applied for the exclusive ownership of the name “Sunday Service” so it can get featured on his brand’s dresses, footwear, headwear, jackets, loungewear, scarves, shirts, socks and tops.

Officials of the US Patent and Trademark Office, however, rejected Ye’s application because the name got registered in 2015 by a man who owns an event company and according to them, it could cause confusion. TMZ reported Kanye still has the option to fight USPTO’s decision before the application is abandoned.

Kanye’s Sunday Service has grown significantly over the past several months and has been hosted in towns and cities across the U.S., including Chicago, D.C., Detroit, Dayton, Ohio, Salt Lake City, and Cody, Wyoming
