Maverick politician and businessman, Kennedy Agyapong have reportedly released six images of the ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

We cannot independently verify if indeed the images making the rounds on social media are those of the journalist as he uses over 150 prosthetics to conceal his true identity in the course of his undercover operations.

According to Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Anas has been setting up most of his victims and is, therefore, releasing images of his identity to enable Ghanaians to know who he is.

He also claims that Anas owns some high rise buildings in Dzorwulu adding that he obtained his law degree dubiously using the former Chief Justice.

“What is Kwaku Baako talking about. I respect him ‘paaa’ but we don’t fear him. Go to Midas Residence and see the houses he has put up there. He and his partner Phillip. Go and see Midas and tell me which journalist can build that.” Ken fired.

In an interview on Ekosii Sen on Asempa FM on Monday, Kennedy Agyapong said: “I will expose Anas because he is not clean. I will put my life on the line against Anas”, he stated.

He repeated the threats on Tuesday on Adom TV insisting he was going to release images of the journalist to the public only for these to surface purported to be those images.

Close associates to Anas have refused to comment if those are his images or otherwise except to say, they are determined to go ahead with the premiering of the Number 12 as stated and remain unfazed by attempts to halt the process.

The investigative piece, which is said to be on football and politics, is set to be premiered in Accra on 6th and 7th June, in Kumasi on 9th and 10th June, Tamale on 13th June and in Takoradi on 16th 2018.

Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday that, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) will totally ban the production of alcoholic drinks in sachets by 2023/2024 after the organization expressed worry over the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages in sachets and small volume glass and Poly-Ethylene Terephthalate (PET) bottles.

With the support of the Federal Ministry of Health, Adeyeye stated that the concern also relates to the fact that alcohol “is also a toxic and psychoactive substance with dependence producing properties, explaining that, uncontrolled access and availability of high concentration alcohol in sachet and small volume PET or glass bottles have been put forward as a factor contributing to substance and alcohol abuse in Nigeria with its negative impact on the society.

The director-general also said that, pending the time-lapse, the distillers association were told to reduce the level of alcohol drink in sachets, and that they have agreed to do that. Adeyeye said the distillers association had also been tasked to run a social responsibility campaign against underage drinking, adding that a jingle would soon be on air in this regard.

Mahama’s Promise To Pay Assembly Members Doesn’t Hold Water : Ahafo Assembly Members

Published

on

The immediate past president of the Republic of Ghana, H. E. John Dramani Mahama has promised to give salaries to all both elected and appointed members of various District, Municipal and Metropolitan Assemblies when voted back into power.

Surprisingly, Assembly members within Tano North, Tano South, Asutifi North, Asutifi South, Asunafo North, and Asunafo South, all in the Ahafo Region, have spoken against that promise and termed it as a palpable lie and deceptive promise. Addressing the media at, Goaso, the Ahafo Regional Capital in a press conference.

The Dean of presiding members who is also an Assembly member for Asuokwao Electoral Area of Tano North in the Ahafo region, Hon. Adom Agyei Kenneth debunked some false publication peddled by purported Assembly members who claim to support the former president.

Hon. Adom, who spoke on behalf of the Assembly members called on the National security, with immediate effect to arrest those unscrupulous people because they don’t represent even a single electoral area in the region.

Mahama's Promise to Pay Assembly Members Doesn't Hold Water - Ahafo Assembly Members

The presiding member for Asunafo North Municipal Assembly, who doubles as Assemblymember for Fawohoyeden Electoral Area, Hon. Jones Afriyie Anto also hammered on a rounded pricket that, Ghana’s Constitution and the Local Government Act does not permit them to engage in partisan politics, however, if they are allowed to participate in partisan politics, then, they will rather prefer H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of the Republic of Ghana to the former president John Dramani Mahama.

Former President Mahama, who was once an Assemblymember but neglected them during his administration, he couldn’t even provide the needed logistics to them. H. E. Nana Akufo-Addo has been able to provide them with motorbikes.

Some of the members added that the creation of the Ahafo Region is even a valuable asset to them because they can easily be identified in the governance system. There are major road Infrastructures under the leadership of H. E. President Akufo-Addo in the region. Bediako-kasapin Road, Akrodie-Asumura Road, Norbeko-Sankore Road, Bomaa, and the like. The Assembly members called on every tom, dick, and harry to disregard ex-president Mahama’s promise of paying them because it is a hollow promise which lacks substance. They concluded by endorsing the four more for Nana Agenda.
