Chikel Baibe Sets To Premiere My ‘Time On September 20

Published

Chikel Baibe

Top players in the entertainment and show business space will converge at the plush Hybrid Lounge in Ghana’s capital to premiere a brand new song and video by budding new female artistes, Chikel Baibe.

Powered by Sultan Group and Hakel Entertainment, the event is aimed at giving this experts and media personalities a first hand feel of the material so as to solicit for their support in propelling Chikel Baibe’s brand onto the international scene.

The song was produced by award winning engineer – Danny Beatz and features one of Ghana’s dope rap kings, Teephlow.

CEO of Hakell Entertainment, Hakeem Ellis and General manager of the label Zeal Governor in a message they attached to an invitation letter to industry gurus explained the need for Ghana to monetize it’s creative sector to help alleviate poverty.

“There is so much money in music. Our artistes can make millions over night through music. Songs from GH artistes are playing everywhere on the continent and outside Ghana, but nothing is being done to ensure return on investment” — Hakeem Ellis emphasised

Ghana has recorded one of Africa’s fastest and busiest talent hubs with an average of 100 singles being released daily according to a recent industry research. But nothing is being done to monetize distribution of music to empower young artistes.

“Hakell Entertainment Solutions is trying to use these young acts to pave the way for monetized music in Ghana and we implore the industry to support this initiative.” — Hakeem explained to Kelly Nii Lartey Mensah.

Chikel Baibe is executively produced by Hakell Entertainment label. She has released “Kweku” which is making waves on several platforms. She assured fans that the new song is something they can jam with and they are going fall in love with it.

Let’s meet at Hybrid Lounge at OSU on September 20, 2019 for the much announced premiere.

Taylor Swift Announces U.S. Tour For 2020 : And It’s Only Hitting Two Cities

Published

on

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift was widely expected to tour in 2020, following this year’s release of “Lover,” as she traditionally has in the year after she puts an album out. Swift has indeed announced her concert lineup for next year — but it only includes four U.S. dates.

She’ll perform July 25-26 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, as the first attraction of any kind at the brand new NFL stadium where the Rams and Chargers will thereafter play. The following weekend, July 31 and August 1, Swift’s show switches coasts to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

The shows are being billed as “her only U.S. concert dates in 2020” and dubbed “Lover Fest West” and “Lover Fest East.”

Swift simultaneously announced eight other international shows — and when it comes to the global market, “additional U.K. and international dates and festivals will be announced soon,” a release said.

The music industry was already abuzz Tuesday morning with speculation about why Swift’s American dates are so limited and whether she plans to hit the rest of the U.S. in 2021 or perhaps simply move on to the next album cycle from there.

In any case, the super-limited run here means fans from around the country will scramble to get tickets for the four L.A. and Massachusetts shows. The public on-sale is Oct. 17. Through her affiliation with Capital One, cardholders will have an opportunity to buy tickets Oct. 15-16, possibly causing a rush to sign up with that credit company.

Fans who signed up for the Taylor Swift Tix Verified Fans program for her 2018 Reputation Tour will have an even earlier crack at tickets on Oct. 14 and can start RSVP-ing today for “preferred presale access,” i.e., an early spot in line. New “verified fans” can start registering for the service Sept. 19 and get in virtual line behind the existing ones. It’s expected that, as is standard for a show with so many different on-sale times, allotments of tickets will be held back for each, so the concerts won’t sell out before the general sale date. Ticket prices have not been announced.

The full lineup:

June 20 – Werchter Boutique (Werchter, Belgium)
June 24 – The Waldbühne (Berlin, Germany)
June 26 – Oslo Sommertid (Oslo, Norway)
July 1 – Roskilde Festival (Roskilde, Denmark)
July 3 – Open’er Festival (Gdynia, Poland)
July 5 – Festival de Nîmes (Nîmes, France)
July 9 – NOS Alive (Oeiras, Portugal)
July 18 – Allianz Parque (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
July 25 – SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles, California)
July 26 – SoFi Stadium (Los Angeles, California)
July 31- Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Massachusetts)
August 1- Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Massachusetts)

DJ Khaled Played At This Forbes 30 Under 30 Indian Couple’s Wedding

DJ Khaled

When the love of your life proposes to you at the Shangri-La in Paris (only the most romantic city in the world) in a suite overlooking the Eiffel Tower, you can only imagine what the rest of the festivities to follow would be like. The power couple and co-founders of Venus ET Fleur, Seema Bansal and Sunny Chadha, featured in Forbes magazine’s annual ’30 Under 30′ list celebrating businesses and industry figures last year, kept their wedding personalised, complementing it with their favourite foods, drinks, colours and of course, florals.

The reception took place at an old bank in Miami—the Alfred Dupont—covered in red roses and candles. The old teller booths were used as bars and the vault was encased with flowers from Venus ET Fleur. There were flapper dancers; champagne was poured from the ceiling to create that ‘20s’ Gatsby vibe. DJ Khaled got the party started playing a mix of popular Punjabi songs along with some of the couple’s favourite American hits. “We served a mix of Italian and Indian food and had a lavish dessert bar. Sunny wore a black tuxedo by Dior and I wore two Marchesa gowns followed by a lehenga by Sajda By Suman,” adds Bansal.

The Mehandi

real wedding

The mehandi was an intimate affair held outdoors with just family in attendance. “My design was a modern take on the Mughal-style mehandi—I had evil eyes and roses incorporated to showcase my love for both. Sunny and I did our Mayian [a traditional Punjabi ceremony in succession at the East Hotel Miami,” says Bansal. The Mexican cuisine served turned out to be an absolute crowd pleaser, while the bold colour scheme—hot pink and emerald—lifted the event.

The Sangeet

Held at the Vizcaya Museums and Gardens, the couple decided to go with a Parisian theme, with lots of pastels and roses everywhere. “We served cocktails with ‘floral ice’ to tie back into our love for florals,” says Bansal. As is tradition, the families performed to various old Bollywood songs. “Since my mother-in-law’s family is from Hong Kong, they danced to some famous songs from there as well, and even brought out a dhol and a Chinese dragon!” says Bansal.

As for outfits for this function, the first worn by Seema was by Tarun Tahiliani—“it was stunning and whimsical… I wore it during cocktail hour, followed by an outfit I designed with Sajda By Suman… it was dark blue and had evil eyes, zodiac signs and constellations as I’m obsessed with astrology,” she adds.

The Anand Karaj (Sikh wedding) held under a white tented space in front of a waterfall in Miami was filled with thousands of white, pink and blush roses. “Sunny and I wore traditional Mughal/Rajasthani inspired outfits. I wore a custom Anita Dongre look in burnt orange and jewellery sourced from Jaipur. Sunny wore a custom ivory Rohit Bal sherwani with a velvet emerald green shawl and turban. We served Indian cold coffee, avocado toast and a traditional Punjabi meal,” she says.
