Samini To Be Honoured At Northern Excellence Awards 2019

The “UNTAMED” King, Samini, is listed among other influential persons from Northern Ghana for this year’s edition of the Northern Excellence Awards (NExA) 2019.

Samini will be honoured on the night of the Awards on March 6, 2019, in Tamale, Northern Region. Although born in Accra, Emmanuel Andrews Samini, who’s showbiz name is Samini has thoroughly represented and defended his Dagaati roots for the most part of his entire career, on both local and international platforms.

Among all his 7 released studio albums, the celebrated Ghanaian Musician has always highlighted his origin in each of the catalogs, with the latest being “Mokpiera”, a very touching song he did for his latest Billboard.com chart-topping record “Untamed”. The word “Mokpiera” is local Dagaati parlance which means “Traveller”, it was featured in a recent interview Samini did with VOA on “African Beat” with the Legendary Host, David Vandy. Samini’s “UNTAMED”, a 22-tracked album won “Album Of The Year” 2018 on Reggaeville.com and stayed at Number 8 position on Billboard.com for a week in the “TOP 10 Reggae Albums” Category. Samini is signed to Africa 1 Media in Ghana.

The maiden edition of the Northern Excellence Awards (NExA) is set to recognize distinguished Individuals and Organizations who are significantly contributing to the socio-economic development of Northern Ghana. The Northern Excellence Awards is an initiative of Celebrities Charity Development Foundation (CeChaDeF), a Non-Governmental Organisation.

The maiden edition of NExA ceremony will be held at Global Dream Hotel on Independence Day, March 6, 2019.

In an interview with the media, Board Chairman of the Northern Excellence Awards, Mr. Abdul Latif Alhassan revealed the development-oriented merit awards scheme seeks to recognize hardworking individuals, brands and organizations like Entrepreneurs, Corporate Institutions, Politicians, Social and Humanitarian Organizations amongst others who are excelling in their various field of endeavors.

Mr. Abdul Latif mentioned that the Northern Excellence Awards 2019 will honor and celebrate more deserving individuals in different disciplines.

‘I Still Feel Young And Hungry For More Awards’ : Sarkodie

Multiple award-winning Ghanaian rappers, Sarkodie has expressed his desire for more accolades in his music career whilst stressing that his Artist of the Decade award shows how far he has come in the game and his contribution to the music industry in general.

“I still feel young and hungry for more and when I was nominated I realized how long I have been in the game and also with those great people also in the nomination list. When I was announced I realize how far my works have gone’’ he told Rev Erskine host of the ‘Myd Morning’ show on YFM.

During the same interview, Sarkodie mentioned Ghanaian actor and comedian Agya Koo as his favorite Ghanaian comedian. Sarkodie used the opportunity to appeal to the organizers of forthcoming Music Magic Comedy happening at the International Conference Centre (AICC) which is scheduled to take place on June 29 to allow him to perform first so that he can sit and enjoy the other performances.

’ I like magic and comedy but I don’t get the opportunity to enjoy such performances because I usually end the show. This time around let me be the first to perform so I can enjoy the show especially the magic’’ he appealed.

“Ladder” Was My Breakthrough Music, It Opened A Lot Of Doors Of Opportunity For Me : Lil Win Reveals

Ghana’s favourite comedian, actor, musician and entrepreneur Kojo Nkansah Lilwin, has revealed that his biggest and favourite song since he started music as a career is ‘Ladder’. A song he released in June 2017.

The comic actor cum musician made this revelation when he was speaking exclusively to Eben Owurachy of Kessben TV.

Lilwin, who was very emotional during the interview disclosed that the ‘Ladder’ song opened a lot of opportunities for him as a musician. He emphasized that the song got him a lot of gigs and made him ‘cement’ his position as a formidable musician.

The song which featured Odehyie Ba from Kumasi got Lilwin his first ever VGMA nomination in 2018. Lilwin also used the opportunity and talked about the controversies spreading on social media about his career and personal life. He stated that these negative stories about him are signs that God has destined him for greatness.

He finally explained that he has not stopped acting as perceived by a lot of Ghanaians and that acting is his first love. Lilwin proudly stated that on any day he will choose acting over music.
