Shatta Wale Explains Reasons For Joining Stonebwoy On VGMA Stage

Published

on

Shatta Wale

Management of Shatta Wale wishes to render a sincere apology to all patrons of the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), viewers of the event around the world, organizers of the awards, Charterhouse Productions, title sponsors, Vodafone Ghana and all Shatta Movement fans worldwide for the unfortunate incident that happened during the recently held VGMA. We further apologize for all the inconveniences caused on the night and afterwards.

As planned and communicated to the organizers on the morning of the event, Shatta Wale was going to sit amongst his fans in the standard ticket section of the auditorium. Due to circumstances beyond the control of the team, Shatta Wale arrived at the venue after the event had started and had been announced as winner of two categories (Reggae Dancehall Song of the year and Highlife Song of the year). This accounted for Shatta Wale’s inability to receive the awards he won himself.

After the announcement of the winner of the Reggae Dancehall Musician of the year category, Shatta Wale decided to reposition to the VIP section to meet his father and a dignitary who had asked to see him. A member of his entourage then suggested to him to join Stonebwoy on stage to congratulate him on his win in the spirit of unity, as he had done at the 2015 4Syte Music Video awards. He agreed and asked his security team to lead him onto the stage only to be met with confrontation instigated by Blakk Cedi, Manager of Stonebwoy.

We wish to state that Shatta Wale accepted a call from Charterhouse to join forces to make the 20th anniversary of the VGMA memorable and has over the period demonstrated his commitment to this course by performing at the VGMA Nominees Jam in Kumasi and VGMA Experience Concert at the Independence Square. Shatta Wale extensively campaigned for votes and promoted the anniversary celebration using his various social media platforms. It will be very illogical for him to deliberately act in a manner to ruin and mar the same event he has spent a lot of resources to promote and urged his fans to attend. Shatta Wale meant no harm and considers this incident as unfortunate.

What Hip-hop Songs Did You Release Last Four Years? : Strongman Questions Medikal

Published

on

Strongman

AMG rapper Medikal we are sure by now regrets ever tweeting that he saved the Ghanaian rap industry from dying in the last four years.

He tweeted: “4 years ago I saved Ghanaian Rap music from dying and I promise to keep it alive ??”

After this controversial tweet, several people have lashed out at him for making such a statement which in another way is a disrespect to the old rappers who were in the system before he came.

When we thought the issue has died down, former Sarkcess music signee Strongman has become the latest person to attack Medikal saying was just running his mouth and that he has not made enough music in the past four years to be making such huge claims.

According to Strongman in an interview with Adom FM, last year alone he had released 13 songs but Medikal is yet to do that and not even within his four years claim.

“Last year alone, i dropped 13 Rap songs. Somebody should ask Medikal how many Hiphop songs he’s released within that 4 years to claim he’s held Rap down four years ago. Forget him, he’s just running his mouth”.

Strongman didn’t end there he continued to school Medikal on what the Hip-hop genre is about and not because he won an award as the best rapper at the just ended VGMAs so he could just make some statements.

“Rap is rap, Rap or Hiphop is not about hit songs. The fact that you won the Rapper of the Year should not make you be making claims which are untrue” Strongman said.

Kwesi Arthur

Ground-up Charle frontman Kwesi Arthur some months ago in an interview revealed that he has no plans of settling down now but would start thinking about it when he turns 35.

According to him, marrying now would mean he has to put his music career on hold since he would be losing focus and rather focusing on becoming a family man.

After his comment, many people on social media sided with him others also urged him to take that thought off and rather choose a better person who understands his career and settle down with.

Father of the rapper known as Samuel Danso Arthur in sharing his view about his son’s comment asked that his son shouldn’t be taken seriously.

According to Mr. Danso Arthur, he saw the headline about his son’s statement and wondered if his son was normal to make such a statement adding that 35 years was too much.

“He can’t be serious. I saw it and I said ‘this guy is he normal’? When you are young and you put structures in place, you make healthy babies. They should have asked him how old his dad was when he gave birth to him. I think 35 is too much,” Mr Danso said.

He continued that he believes the “Woara” hitmakers statement has to do with some experiences he had whiles growing up but that was how life was meant to be it couldn’t guarantee anyone 100%.

Kwesi Arthur’s dad was grateful to his superstar son who according to him replaced his cab engine when it broke down recently.

Chikel Baibe

Chikel Baibe, a new female singer has expressed delight in the fact that Ebony’s ever imposing musical shadow has finally been cast off her career for her fans to enjoy her true identity. Owing to the signing of a new artiste by the late Ebony’s father, Mr. Kwarteng, Chikel Baibe believes this single act is enough to wean fans off seeing and referring to her as an “Ebony-like” act.

Chikel Baibe who just completed S.H.S about a week now seems to be happy about the announcement by Ebony’s father. Mr. Kwarteng has introduced a new artist under his records label to represent her daughter and continue her legacy.

She believed with this news people are now going to stop tagging her name and music under Ebony Reigns shadow.

“It’s relevant for entertainment critics to appreciate the statement by Chikel Baibe because she acknowledged the influential brand and the level of impact Ebony had on the music industry. However, she wants her own brand to precede her career” — Hakeem Ellis, CEO of Hakell Entertainment, (a custodian label for Chikel Baibe).

Taking to her Instagram page, @Chikelbaibe posts.

“Thanks be to God, now that starboy-kwarteng has introduced the Ebony replacement under #Bonytotheworld _Records I believe people will stop tagging me under the shadows of the Late dancehall Queen Ebony and appreciate my talent without tagging me as Ebony replacement.
