Tokyo 2020 Olympics Postponed Until 2021 Due To Coronavirus Pandemic

Tokyo 2020

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics will be postponed by one year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

International Olympic Committee member Dick Pound made this announcement. He confirmed the Games – due to start on Friday, July 24, and end on Sunday, August 9 – will be held at a later date, most likely in 2021.

The details over when the Games will be held are to be worked out over the next four weeks.

Pound told USA Today: “On the basis of the information the IOC has, the postponement has been decided.

“The parameters going forward have not been determined, but the Games are not going to start on July 24, that much I know.

“It will come in stages. We will postpone this and begin to deal with all the ramifications of moving this, which are immense.”

Asked about Pound’s comments, an IOC spokesman said: “Well, as we announced yesterday, we are looking at scenarios.”

Olympic Committee chairman Thomas Bach said on Sunday that he has ruled out cancelling the Games altogether.

The decision to postpone the Olympics comes after intense pressure from competing countries, with Australia and Canada pulling out before today’s announcement.

This is the first time the Olympics will ever been postponed.

The 1916 Games were cancelled because of World War I and the 1940 and 1944 Olympics were called off due to World War II.

There were boycotts for three straight Olympics from 1976 – but the event always went ahead as scheduled.

The sitting president who as at now according to the Imam of Peace has no idea of handling the Coronavirus Pandemic in his Country.

In a tweet on Friday March 27, 2020 he tweeted below.

The President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari still doesn’t know the name of the virus killing 24,000+ at such a rapid rate. Addressing the nation about it for the first time, he pronounced the virus as ‘CIVIK 1-9’.
His friend, Imran Khan, thinks Japan and Germany share a border.

I love Nigeria. I have one Nigerian friend and she’s amazing. One of the most successful and honest people I know. I also welcome my new Nigerian followers on Twitter.
You have a beautiful country but it would be more beautiful without the terrorism enabled by Dictator Buhari.

He also went on to call out on followers of the President who hit at him in a series of tweets below.

President Buhari’s cult claim they have nothing to do with terrorists in Nigeria.
Yet when I expose terrorists in Nigeria…
President Buhari’s fans attack me online.
A stupid President is always elected by stupid people.

Covik Cult lying again. He has nothing to respond with so he claims that he’s blocked. He’s not blocked. But he will be after this lie. #PresidentCovik

Coronavirus: Two Ghanaians Share Information On How They Recovered

Published

on

News outlets lately have all been focusing on one thing- the Covid-19 (coronavirus as we know it). Day in, day out the figures across the globe fluctuates as new tests show positive results all the while, others are taking their last breath.

Through it all, one thing is clear-the virus to some extent favours the younger generation as many young people who have tested positive for the virus have been sent home to self-isolate and treat themselves.

Below are first hand account of two Ghanaian patients of the virus living abroad (U.K. & Lativia) who are undergoing treatment in self isolation. The motive behind sharing their story is to spread calm while placing emphasis on the importance of social distancing.

The patients share tips on medication to use and avoid while treating symptoms; they also share the steps to embark on once you feel symptoms setting in. Some of these tips include

1.When you feel your throat drying up,drink water
2.Have vitamin C in and on you (either chewies or the soluble but the soluble is highly recommended)
3.If you can, get a humidifier with essential oils to help ‘moisturise the atmosphere and help you breathe better
4.Should you have a headache, stick to paracetamol and stay away from Ibuprofen as it worsens the condition(that is if you do have the virus).

It is clear that although Covid-19 is a deadly virus, it is not a death sentence and making the conscious effort to fight it is crucial on our journey to kick this pandemic out. Bare in mind, the protocols for preventing catching the virus remain

1.Wash your hands with soap under running water for at least 20sec.
2.Keep a sanitizer on you at all times; and use it
3.If you have to sneeze or cough, do not do it into you palm. Just dab
4.Do not touch your face
5.Avoid contact with people
6.Stay hydrated and stock up on vitamin c

It is our duty to ourselves to stay safe and healthy at all times and until this virus passes, let us be as hygienic as one can be.

We have posted screenshots of the respective conversations we had with the patients who happens to be friends with one of our representatives.

Xi Jinping And Trump

Donald Trump took to Twitter to reveal that he had a “very good conversation” with the President of China Xi Jinping and that the US and China are now working “closely together” in the fight against coronavirus.

He tweeted: “Just finished a very good conversation with President Xi of China. Discussed in great detail the CoronaVirus that is ravaging large parts of our Planet. China has been through much & has developed a strong understanding of the Virus. We are working closely together. Much respect!”

This came after he was adamant about referring to Coronavirus as the “Chinese virus” despite being told that it’s racist.

Twitter users reacted to his tweet, where he referred to COVID-19 as coronavirus and no longer as “Chinese Virus”.

“It conveniently turned from the Chinese virus back to the coronavirus when you want to pretend you have respect for the president of China. You’re such a hypocrite,” @TalbertSwan wrote.

The phone conversation between both Presidents followed a video conference meeting of G-20 leaders during which Xi Jinping gave a speech calling for greater international cooperation.

In the call with Trump, Xi said that U.S.-China relations are at a critical juncture, and hoped the U.S. would make substantial action in improving the relationship, according to a Chinese-language state media report translated by CNBC.

“Under the current circumstances, China and the U.S. should unite to fight the epidemic,” the report of Xi’s comments said, noting both countries’ health departments and disease control experts have maintained communication.

“The Chinese side is willing to continue to provide information and experience with the U.S. without reservation,” the report added, noting some provinces, cities and businesses in China are providing the U.S. with medical supplies.

“The Chinese side understands the current difficulties of the U.S., and is willing to provide support within (China’s) ability.”
