Victoria and David Beckham

Victoria Beckham might have faced some difficult rumors about her marriage last week but she’s proved that she still knows how to have a laugh.

The mum-of-four – who was recently forced to deny speculation that she and David could be about to divorce – playfully posed as a Charlie’s Angel on Tuesday morning as she modeled a chic outfit from her collection.

VB, 44, copied the famous pose from the iconic show on the stairs at her London home and captioned the shot: ‘Good morning Charlie!😂😂 congratulations Team VVB! Love my new #VVBPreAW18 jeans and top!! Obsessed with my Quinton bag!’

Mikel Hasn’t Called Me In 5-years : Mikel Obi’s Dad Reveals

Mikel Obi

Chief Michael Obi, the 74-year-old father of Super Eagles Captain, John Mikel Obi, who recently gained freedom from kidnappers for the second time, has shared details of how he was held captive for 5 days.

In a recent chat with Dailytrust, he said: “I was traveling home for a family meeting in Enugu. Not quite long after a checkpoint, we heard gunshots ahead of us, so we stopped.

My driver reckoned it was armed robbers, and tried to reverse the car. But another car from nowhere blocked us from behind, and the people within came and dragged us out. The kidnappers were six, well-armed and masked.

They assaulted us, and dragged us into the bush. We walked for many hours, and when I complained that I could not continue, they beat me again. Eventually, they told my driver to carry me on his back.

But after a while, he also got tired and dropped me. We walked into the bush for what seemed like the whole night, until the next morning. I asked them what they wanted from me, and that was when they told me they wanted N100m.

We communicated in Hausa, and some broken English. I told them I could not afford it, and they said they heard that my son sends me N50m to me bi-weekly. I told them I only had N2 million in my bank account.

I finally pegged it at N10 million. My other son, Ebele, who is the goalkeeper for Heartlands of Owerri, contacted Mikel. That was how the ransom was made available.”

When asked about his relationship with Mikel, he said: “It is an issue, but we don’t know what to do. It’s over five years now without a phone call from him to me. But he communicates with his mother.

There is nothing I have not done to fix it. God has told me that I should not feel hurt. When we start to talk about it, I say, ‘Well, as long as I see him on TV, doing great, no problem’.

He once told his brother that sometimes he picks his phone to call me, but something tells him not to. Sometime last year, he was to bring his kids so that I could name them, he said he would. But he didn’t.”

570 Dams Being Constructed In 3 Northern Regions : Akufo-Addo

President Nana Akufo-Addo has revealed that a total of five hundred and seventy dams (570), and fifteen (15) warehouses are being constructed in the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions.

According to President Akufo-Addo, Government is undertaking the construction of this critical infrastructure, especially the three Northern regions, for the enhancement of Ghanaian agriculture, and to create the conditions for all year-round farming.

“It is long overdue and that is why we have committed ourselves to the programme of 1-village-1-dam so that every part of the northern region of our country will have access to water and irrigation to be able to support farming all year round,” the President said.

That is why, “this year, we are constructing 570 dams in the three northern regions, of which the Builsa area is getting twenty (20) – ten (10) for Builsa North, ten (10) for Builsa South. There are two in Sandema, two in Yaga, two in Chuchuliga, two in Sanyasi, and two in Kandema.”

President Akufo-Addo made this known on Friday, 20th July, 2018, in Sandema, in the Builsa North district, when he interacted with the Chiefs and people of the district, at the end of his 2-day tour of the Upper East Region.

The President told the Sandema Naba, Azaksuk Azantilow, that Government is also establishing 50 warehouses across the country to provide for storage for the output of farmers.

He bemoaned the fact that, for far too long in the country’s history, farm produce rots because of the unavailability of storage facilities.

“At the end of this year, when the fifty (50) warehouses are in place, that is also going to be a thing of the past. Five (5) of these warehouses are going to be constructed in the Upper East Region, of which Sandema will have one,” he added.

In response to a request for tractors by Naba Azaksuk Azantilow, to boost mechanized agriculture in the Builsa North District, President Akufo-Addo revealed that Government has received a $150 million facility from the EXIM Bank of India for the creation of agricultural mechanization centers, across the length and breadth of our country.

“Parliament is debating that as we talk now, and I am hoping that, by the time Parliament rises on the 27th of July, the loan would have been ratified, and we can get on with establishing these agricultural mechanization centers which will provide agricultural services for our farmers,” he said.

On the Free Senior High School Policy, the President noted in 2017, 90,000 more young men and women had access to senior high school education than in 2016.

“This year, the number will double to 180,000 more young men and women in our secondary schools. And, in doing so, we are also extending rapidly our teacher population. We are employing 8,000 more teachers this year to take care of this additional number of students,” he added.

On the absorption of the Chuchuliga High School, President Akufo-Addo assured the Sandema Naba that “I will pass on the message to the Minister for Education when I get back to Accra. Naba, you know the relations between you and I are such that I am your advocate in Accra. I will be your barrister in the government in Accra.”

Touching on the request for the elevation of Builsa North from its current status of a district to a municipality, the President, in the presence of the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, told Naba Azantilow that “she will be able to respond to your demand in due course. I am sure, when she gets back to Accra, she will make whatever calculations she is making about the elevation, (and) Sandema must be part of it.”

Earlier in the day, President Akufo-Addo inspected ongoing works at the site of the construction of a 1,000-tonne warehouse, which is scheduled to be completed in December 2018; visited the site of construction works on the Navrongo-Chuchuliga-Sandema road. He also cut the sod for the construction of a new district police headquarters in Sandema.
