We Are Ever Ready For Any Emergency In The General Election : Ahafo Nadmo And Security Agency

Undoubtedly, the 2020 Ghana’s General Elections is fast approaching. Even though, the Coronavirus Pandemic has restricted Political parties from organising symposiums across the length and breadth of this great nation.

Notwithstanding, some parties are seriously embarking on House to House Campaign to canvass votes. Civil societies and other religious bodies are preaching peace ahead of the elections. The Ahafo Regional National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and other security agencies are leaving no stone unturned ahead of the coming December polls.

The Ahafo Regional NADMO Secretariat undertook Pre- Election Functional Stimulation Exercise which was nationwide with the Emergency Operation Centre at NADMO Headquarters, which served as the upper control room and the respective sixteen Regional offices served as lower control rooms.

Speaking at the Ahafo Regional lower control room, Collins Osei Bonsu, who is the Ahafo Regional Director for NADMO outlined their preparedness for all eventualities in the upcoming elections.

Mr. Bonsu added that Ahafo NADMO is poised for the rehabilitation of services for victims of disasters and mobilising of people at various levels of societies to support governmental programmes.

Moreover, their readiness of the region in the management of disasters cannot be swept under a carpet. He cautioned all Political parties, supporters, to comport themselves before, during and after the general elections to prevent all forms of calamities. It is very imperative to note that, the Functional Stimulation Exercise was to test the preparedness of NADMO, stakeholders and other security agencies on the upcoming elections.

The Ahafo Emergency Operation Centre section was chaired by the Regional Coordinating Director, Mr Samuel Donkor, who represented the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Evans Opoku Bobie (MP) Addressing the unmitigated entourage, Mr Samuel Donkor gave a full assurance that the Regional Minister and the entire Regional Security Council are fully prepared to ensure peaceful elections in the region.

The programme was coordinated successfully by the Regional NADMO Director, Mr Collins Osei Bonsu. Other participants of the programme were Regional Commanders of the various Security and Intelligence Agencies, Regional Director of Health, Ambulance service, Information service Department and many more.

Wolves have confirmed that striker Raul Jimenez suffered a fractured skull and has undergone an operation following his head clash with David Luis against Arsenal on Sunday, November 29.

The Mexican striker was stretchered off after the head clash with Arsenal defender David Luiz and was given oxygen after the accidental incident.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 7:27pm today (29 November) to reports of a person injured at Emirates Stadium on Queensland Road, Holloway.

“We sent an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and a medic in car to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance by car.

“We treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”

The 29-year-old was taken to a London hospital, where he was conscious and responding to treatment.

In a statement on Monday, Wolves said: “Raul is comfortable following an operation last night, which he underwent in a London hospital.

“He has since seen his partner Daniela and is now resting. He will remain under observation for a few days while he begins his recovery.

“The club would like to thank the medical staff at Arsenal, the NHS paramedics, hospital staff and surgeons who, through their skill and early response, were of such help.

“The club ask that Raul and his family are now afforded a period of space and privacy, before any further updates are provided in due course.”

Senegal World Cup Hero, Pape Bouba Diop Dies At 42 After Battling With Long Illness

Pape Bouba Diop, a former Senegalese footballer has passed away at the age of 42.

According to reports, Bouba Diop had been suffering from a long-time illness before his death.

The midfielder became a national hero when he scored the goal which saw Senegal beat France 1-0 in their opening World Cup game in 2002.

He first arrived in English football when he joined Fulham from Lens in 2004. He later joined Portsmouth in 2007 and after a stint with AEK Athens returned to the top flight by joining West Ham in 2011.

After one season with the Hammers, he joined Birmingham City before being released in January 2013.

Diop won 63 caps for Senegal, scoring 11 goals including his historic World Cup strike.

Barthélémy Dias, the mayor of Mermoz Sacré-Cœur in Senegal paid tribute to Bouba Diop on Sunday, writing on social media: :Thank you GAINDÉ for making us dream so much.

“Your name will forever be engraved in the Football Hall of Fame alongside great legends.

“May God welcome you in his Paradise.”

Prophet Nigel Gaisie, the leader of Prophetic Hill Church has dropped a cryptic prophecy ahead of the coming 2020 election which is barely a week away.
